mardoik··on China’s Military Is Catching Up to the U.S.
I read it too and the way he backs it up makes sense.
mardoik··on China’s Military Is Catching Up to the U.S.
China's strong points:

-China's military has hypersonic missiles that evade most defenses

-Chinese attack drones can paralyze communications networks

-China's naval ships outnumber America's, including 3 aircraft carriers

-China has 2 million serving members vs. 1.4 million US soldiers

-Cyberwar capabilities can disrupt US infrastructure

Considerations:

-China lacks combat experience

-A top-down command structure could make them less flexible to improvise on the field

-40% of training involves studying the Communist Party rather than training

-Untested modern warfare efforts of joint military branch execution

-General lack of readiness based on red vs. blue team exercises

-Shortage of high-quality talent based on standardized admission tests

mardoik··on Pitchbook's 3Q VC Report
There's very interesting stats in here. Thought I'd share.
mardoik··on Despite High Price, Nvidia's RTX 4090 Sells Out Fast on Launch Day
What's the use case for these high end graphics card? Is it for professional use or do gamers actually buy this? Which games require such high end graphics?
mardoik··on [dead]
Seems that the priority of the Web3 constituents is shifting from playing games to earn vs. actually looking to play these NFT games for fun.

Do you guys think this space will grow?

Curious to have a discussion on this.

mardoik··on Facebook's Legs Video Was a Lie
Dang. I didn’t watch the event, just followed headlines and was under the impression that the legs were already developed.
mardoik··on Trying to build the mother of all financial trackers
I think this is very cool. I haven't used financial trackers lately. But I do remember one frustration I had with Mint.com was the inability to edit the categories of certain transactions in a wholesale manner and then adding rules for future instances. This was like 5-6 years ago; it could be fixed right now.
mardoik··on Hackers drain $100M off Solana-based DeFi platform Mango Markets
This time it's one of Solana's largest DeFi protocols. Are these guys asleep at the wheel? I wonder if these hacks can ever be fully prevented.
mardoik··on AI-driven thermal cameras used to obtain passwords
Now I feel better about using a password manager.
mardoik··on SEC Investigates Creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs
Seems that the SEC is getting its hand into all things related to crypto. Not sure how they'd classify these NFTs as a security, unless maybe Yuga Labs promised owners income. Hopefully they don't regulate the industry to death. However, appropriate regulation could be very good for the industry.
