markovian··on Ask HN: What volume (in dollars) of materials is discarded/burned every year?
Don't know exactly how it is calculated (in the example I gave).
markovian··on Ask HN: What volume (in dollars) of materials is discarded/burned every year?
It is $53B for 2017, recorded in December 2017.

Anyone ?
markovian··on Ask HN: How to disrupt the payment card industry?
Very difficult, because those companies are literally taking no fees, most of the fee is actually cashed in by the banks when they decide to approve a transaction. To compete with Visa and Mastercard you need to be the bank, lower the fees, and propose the same level of transaction performance. And that's a challenge.

There is some space in the cross-country payment market though, and some (a lot, actually) in the B2B payment market too.

markovian··on Ask HN: How would you bootstrap a space company?
What could we be able to manufacture in space in the next 15/20 years in your opinion?
markovian··on Ask HN: How would you bootstrap a space company?
How about a logistics company ?
markovian··on Ask HN: How would you bootstrap a space company?
It's actually one of the best solutions proposed here.
markovian··on Ask HN: How would you bootstrap a space company?
Thanks, very interesting. Could you develop steps 2 and 4?
markovian··on Ask HN: How would you bootstrap a space company?
In short, infrastructure. Where would you start?

By "bootstrap" I mean a way of self-financing part of the activities, finding a source of income quickly rather than relying solely on fundraising.

Raising money is not a problem, but I don't see myself getting involved in creating a business that requires billions and billions of dollars in financing before generating a single cent.

For what purpose?

Telecommunications?

markovian··on Ask HN: How much would you be willing to pay each day to stop/reverse aging?
Only 10/15% ? On what level of net income ?
markovian··on Ask HN: How much would you be willing to pay each day to stop/reverse aging?
Yes, I started that "trillionaire" thread too.
markovian··on Ask HN: Which industry will most likely produce the first trillionaire?
I'm betting on Education too. Healthcare seems just as big and inefficient to me honestly.
markovian··on Ask HN: Which industry will most likely produce the first trillionaire?
Seems relevant. Maybe some kind of global financial technology company such as Ant Financial.
markovian··on Ask HN: Which industry will most likely produce the first trillionaire?
What about Healthcare ? Massive and still highly inefficient industry here.

He is certainly well positioned, but Amazon is already 23 years old, industrial cycles tend to shorten and he himself anticipated the death of his own company.
