That's why it's important to affirm your toddler's emotions. Even when it seems like a trivial event to you, their feelings and emotions about that trivial event are anything but trivial. And teaching them that feeling their feelings is silly or irrational will instill that belief in them for the rest of their lives.
You could add the facility for visitors to add their own locations or submit them for review. That way the people who "know something is missing" can add it themselves.
Aside from privately owned solar/wind/battery on your own home, there's no evidence that I've seen anyway that indicates when utilities move to more green energy generation that those savings get passed on to customers. Perhaps, there are examples out there somewhere.
That same set of millenials are now visiting that treatment upon Gen Z. We are building AI that will eviscerate the remaining middle class, raise electricity rates to a level where many people will not be able to power their homes, and poisoning the air and water so that portions of the world will become unliveable.
Gen Z is justified in being upset with millenials. We used to be the victims, but we've become the abusers.
Sam Altman being removed from the equation would make the world an objectively better place.
* Higher electricty bills.
* 5-6x cost of RAM, GPUs, and other computer components
* Data centers popping up in their backyards
* An internet inundated with slop
* Slop beginning to infiltrate the video game industry and other creative industries
* AI being used to justify gutting entry level jobs for a generation already screwed by larger, long horizon economic forces
* Grok enabling the creation of revenge porn and CSAM with seemingly no repercussions
* Massive IP theft on a scale previously unheard of
* Etc.
The pros of AI are:
* It can summarize text and transcribe audio decently well.
* It can make funny pictures of cats wearing top hats.
* ???
4. Designating the original or traditional form of something that has a digital or computer-mediated counterpart.
5. colloquial (chiefly humorous). Esp. of a person: unaware of or unaffected by computer technology or digital communications; outdated, old-fashioned.
That's why there's less backlash against AI that writes code and more backlash when the video game industry uses it for creative assets.
> EV in fullsize truck doesn't work that well
Yes, you are making my argument for me. Fullsize EV pickup trucks don't work well, so Ford should stop making them...
MSRP might not be the only factor, but it's pretty damn important. Not a lot of people can "risk" $85,000.
*Also Ford:* WhERe aRe all tHe cUstOmerS?!
I don't understand what's so hard to understand about selling EVs like hotcakes. Make a reasonably sized vehicle, with a reasonable range, at a reasonable price point. They already have the Maverick. An excellent truck for day-to-day driving and weekend tasks. Make a Maverick, but put an electric motor in it instead of the gas-hybrid engine. Sell it for $10k more than the gas model (~$40k). That truck would sell gangbusters.
Instead they think they are Rivian and can sell trucks at Rivian prices, but they aren't Rivian. They aren't a sexy new EV startup who makes something truly new and bespoke. And who can, as a result, charge bespoke prices. They are Ford. They are a known entity. Dare I say, they are boring. Their strength is in volume, not bespokeness. They need to sell a boring truck with an electric motor at volume.
It takes noticeable processing time to know which is which. Especially with a button that you need to hit as quickly as possible to hold the door for someone, those icons should be widely different from one another. I can't count the number of times I've meant to hit the open button to hold the elevator for someone only to accidentally hit the close button just in time to make eye contact with the person we've left behind.
