messutied··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (July 2026)
StatusPal | Founding GTM Lead | REMOTE (Europe / EU-overlapping timezone) | Full-time | €55–75k base + uncapped commission (~€100–140k+ OTE) + 1–2.5% founding equity

StatusPal helps engineering and IT teams detect, fix, and communicate incidents — monitoring, incident response, and status pages in one platform. We're small, profitable, and bootstrapped (no VC, no runway clock), with real revenue and customers. What we haven't built yet is a growth engine — that's this role.

We're hiring our first commercial hire to own go-to-market end to end: both marketing/demand (content, SEO, partnerships, paid) and sales (outbound, demos, closing). You'd wake up thinking about how we sell more, lean on AI to punch above your weight, and bring in freelancers or reps when the numbers justify it — running the whole function so it compounds without the founder in the day-to-day. Strong fit if you've done a hands-on 0→few-million at an early-stage B2B SaaS and want real ownership and upside over a big-company base.

Not a fit if you want a finished playbook, warm leads handed to you, or to be purely a marketer or purely a closer — this role owns the whole path.

I'm the founder and will reply to everyone. Full details + apply: https://statuspal.notion.site/Founding-GTM-Lead-39009d5544a7...

messutied··on Show HN: OpenStatus – Open-source monitoring with incident managements
Founder of StatusPal here. Our status pages can do this :)

We support configuring SaaS dependencies as part of your status page and alert your team members: https://www.statuspal.io/features/status-page

Alternatively, you can try our free Slack app, where you can do similar directly in Slack: https://statuspal.io/status-center/slack/

messutied··on LeoLM: German-Language LLM Research
Maybe a dumb question but, are there advantages of using Llama instead of ChatGPT besides cost and the fact that it’s open?
messutied··on Tell HN: Gmail rate limiting emails from AWS SES
Would you happen to know of better alternatives for sending critical email notifications? We're just now working on moving away from Mailgun into SES. This thread is making me reconsider.
messutied··on Show HN: Hacker News user experience enhancement browser extension
That's only for MacOS. I meant something like that but for iOS. Any ideas?
messutied··on Show HN: Hacker News user experience enhancement browser extension
Man, I’d love to find a simple Safari extension to make the HN’s font slightly larger and enable dark mode in iOS without the need to use another app.

Is this technically possible? If so, I might go ahead and code this myself ^^

messutied··on Simple exercise to eliminate gastroesophageal reflux (2022)
How long does it take for you to realize if cutting something off your diet helps?

Since I feel like some foods can take days to affect my GERD it can be difficult to tell what helps and what doesn’t.

messutied··on Ask HN: Is Hacker News slow for anyone else?
Yep, quite slow for me (EU).
messutied··on Ask HN: Who else is working/on call over Christmas?
I’m on call too. As a solo founder of a small SaaS.

I’m curious if there’s a community like a Slack channel for sharing this kind of experiences?

messutied··on Lastpass setting the delete account div to display: none
Thanks! Any idea of how 1password compares with bidwarden in terms of security?
messutied··on Lastpass setting the delete account div to display: none
Does Bitwarden support a keyword shortcut that brings up the password search? (outside of browser preferably), couldn't find one.
messutied··on Lastpass setting the delete account div to display: none
After migrating to another password manager, do you also need to rotate all your passwords? Or at least the most sensitive ones? Or is the LastPass hack so far unlikely to compromise the passwords? (since I understand only encrypted data is in hacker's hands)
messutied··on Remind HN: Heroku will delete all free dbs and shut down all free dynos Monday
I didn’t receive any emails from Heroku about this, thank you so much for this reminder. Saved us a lot of headaches.
messutied··on Notion AI – waiting list signup
For me this is huge. No more random formatting on google docs from team members, notion removes this from the picture and ppl can focus on the content.

Also the ability to nest documents, insert tables that are easy to manage and again formatting is a solved issue.

messutied··on Shopify Is Illegal in Germany
Oh boy CF if a difficult one to replace :/ will have to start looking for EU alternatives.
messutied··on Shopify Is Illegal in Germany
Thanks a lot this is super helpful, much appreciated.

I was just thinking about the other services, for example would Cloudflare be ok? We proxy all our traffic through them, and they are key for DDOS prevention, I suppose data goes encrypted to them.

messutied··on Shopify Is Illegal in Germany
Actually maybe it wasn’t clear because of the parent comment I commented in, but we are a EU company, but for our server hosting we use a US provider.

Do you know if that that makes any difference?

As a EU resident myself I completely understand, it just is a bit tough to make the changes as a small company, but if it’s legally required we’ll make them ASAP.

messutied··on Shopify Is Illegal in Germany
We definitely store PII as we have to store users emails an even phone numbers.

So we basically need to migrate to a EU based could provider ASAP?

Would this privacy shield 2 fix this problem? I suppose we can’t just wait for that.

messutied··on Shopify Is Illegal in Germany
Is it not even ok to store this data if the company is clear about the fact that they are hosting the data in servers of US company like AWS?

Like making it clear in the DPA/PP?

messutied··on How we renamed our Design Converter to Magical Ass
Oh man, that's a classic, always check what your name idea means in different languages ^^ it's actually close to "ass" in Spanish too (culo).

Do you plan to keep the new name? Personally I don't think is so bad.

messutied··on Ask HN: What'd you do while HN was down?
I created this unofficial Hacker News status page so I could subscribe and get notified once HN comes back up :) https://hacker-news.statuspal.io/

messutied··on Coffeezilla, a YouTuber Exposing Crypto Scams

messutied··on New EU data blockage as German court would ban many cookie management providers
> This consideration is key, even when Akamai servers are hosted in the EU.

Does this mean that for those of us that manage our own cookie banner and overall website in Cloudflare (also US company) will have the same issue? And be deemed unlawful?

messutied··on Status Page for monitoring your websites and applications with beautiful graphs
This looks really cool! However the problem with self hosting your status page always is that it might go down together with the rest of your services and so be unusable when you need it the most.

So at least host it in a completely separate cloud/infrastructure if you’ll self host.

messutied··on Microsoft Retires Azure Blockchain
This looks interesting, logistics and supply chain seems to be one of the few recurring use cases I see that looks somewhat promising.
