I'm hoping someone invents a new iteration that's better.
It's kinda like taxes. Who among us would say their tax dollars are and have been well spent? Then why on earth would any of us want to give these idiots more of our hard earned dollars.
"The idea that illegal immigrants need to be deported comes from a view that those jobs should go to American citizens or from a view that browns don't belong in the USA"
Calling everybody a racist who wants laws enforced is weak. Immigration laws are made necessary by a welfare state I happen to not support. The conversation has literally nothing to with race or racism. We're talking about the laws that govern the country and whether we should enforce or ignore them.
What do you think? Do you have any profound insight or ideas to share?
I can't watch soccer highlights from X because all the mods on reddit are sure Elon's evil.
Governments don't have profits. In the last 30 years, they've all racked up massive amounts of debt. What do we call what the guys who run our government make since they only have debt (and not profits to speak of ...).
Giving the government more money to do things works really well. Here in the USA we've given the governments 3x more money in real terms to run our public schools, and we've gotten worse results over those 3 decades.
Governments also get to hide real expenses that audited private enterprises never could. The "cost" on this website assumes what's paid is adequate to manage the business which is wrong.
People have been freaking out about this pending doom for as long as we've walked the earth. Most of it stems from either old age or political hyperventilating (both symptoms of perceived displacement). Humanity's still grinding forward ... faster than ever.
$2B for new Miami campus (could have been in NYC, but well ...) $1B - split w $500M for CS Dept - for Pittsburg campus
"CMU Miami will invert the traditional higher education model by organizing learning and inquiry around societal challenges rather than academic majors. It will be entirely designed and built — from first blueprints to final beam — to drive revolutionary breakthroughs that address society’s defining challenges."
What makes you think the poster you responded to agrees with the Iran war expense? He simply commented on how difficult it is to cut anything from the Federal budget. He's right. Remember when all the lunatics were out keying Teslas a few short months ago?
