...under capitalism...
Sure we will...
This is grim.
I guess this only works because those are foreign servers so freedom of speech does not apply but Italy is doing their bidding?
The moment you do that, why even bother producing a result.md? Just let the Bot execute on its findings, you realistically won't be able to judge them anyway.
Why would they cover programming? That's what all the books on programming are for.
Also I see no need for signal processing to make programming a hard problem. Writing correct code is hard. Writing code that makes incorrect code easy to spot and hard to write is hard.
You can be great at local maximums, communication, establishing support for executing a plan or creating alignment on big efforts, and proceeded to still create a ball of mud. Bug ridden, hard to read, hard to debug.
What are you talking about? I never insinuated anything like that.
The tech workers who are unionized that I know didn't join for financial gain because there is none (except for a few who are bad at bargaining). They joined to exert control over their workplaces and help build companies they can be proud of.
Sure, the amount of code generated is exploding but where are these successful production applications that have "[gone] beyond individual cognitive limits"?
It's been some time now. Half a year ago I was concerned with the impact Gen AI might have on this profession. Today I am primarily tired of Gas Towns, Loops and the next fad.
Why do I have to still debug complex problems myself. Why do I have to still do detailed examinations.
Gen AI helps building big software. But the only thing it has truly replaced me in is building small software that in most cases I wouldn't have bothered building in the first place.
However, another explanation is that the dominant economic and legal environment - and, indeed, society itself - is structured around a single business model: the capitalist as chief, and workers with no meaningful voice in management.
Mondragon emerged in a region with strong traditions of industrial organization, communal solidarity and popular education, as well as a recent memory of workers' movements. It also arose within living memory of the large-scale worker collectivizations of the Spanish Revolution, particularly in Catalonia.
Much of the social and institutional environment that has made this possible has weakened over recent decades. This was not merely an accidental development: in much of the world, it was the result of a conscious political project that accelerated in the 1980s.
And there is another forgotten truth. Before the Soviet counter-revolution, liberals advocated for this type of Socialism.
The form of association, however, which if mankind continue to improve, must be expected in the end to predominate, is not that which can exist between a capitalist as chief, and work-people without a voice in the management, but the association of the labourers themselves on terms of equality, collectively owning the capital with which they carry on their operations, and working under managers elected and removable by themselves.
- John Stuart MillHowever, Mondragon, and co-ops like it, go further. They are industrial democracies: one worker, one vote.
:^)
Don't understand how one can experience anything but infinite dread when confronted with the effects of these models on the arts.
Maybe I am getting old. But I don't think so...

Are you working in frontend? On non-trivial webapps? Because this is entirely wrong in my experience. Performance issues are the #1 complaint of everyone on the frontend team. Be that in compiling, testing or (to a lesser extend) the actual app.
