oceansky··on Reverse engineer of PC-98 Touhou games retires
I don't see why it wouldn't, passion does not exists in a vacuum.
oceansky··on Reverse engineer of PC-98 Touhou games retires
Although I love the new era of LLM assisted reverse engineering, it really breaks my heart how much it negatively affect veterans in their area of passion.
oceansky··on Jailbreaking the Switch 2
I had the codebase in both cases. It read commit history, documentation files and code comments in Japanese to determine ownership.
oceansky··on Jailbreaking the Switch 2
They relaxed rules a lot over time.

Start of the year: I asked Claude to explain me the leaked Pokemon Emerald codebase,he refused no matter what I tried.

Fast forward today: I asked it to take the codebase and aim for web browsers, it didn't even complain, just did it.

oceansky··on Show HN: The Zelda timeline to catch up before the Ocarina of Time remake
Weird design choice by Nintendo. Imo, the whole timeline thing is a very clear afterthought for legend of zelda, most games have little to no relation to each other.

Even if there's no intent, it's still a cyber attack.

oceansky··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
I agree, but I don't have to take it at face value either. It is just one data point after all. Usually I am interviewing in many places.
oceansky··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
Even an emotional feedback could be potentially useful for self-improvement. Asking doesn't hurt.
oceansky··on 216M Spy TVs – The LG Smart TV Problem [video]
The title undersells it.

The TV has multiple mics that can't be disabled, they constantly record everything and upload transcripts in plain text.

It gathers data and metadata of all devices on the network, including IP addresses. And even analyzes network data to understand which applications are being run.

oceansky··on Mojo 1.0
Are there any benchmarks on which languages models perform best?
oceansky··on Mojo 1.0
AI generated first image does not give me much confidence.

Lastest OpenCV 5 release notes also had a lot of LLMisms.

I guess that's the new normal. Still, I am very hopeful for Mojo.
