oceanstone··on Should JavaScript be split into two languages?
> this possible solution is Google’s preferred solution

Is it though? Sounds more like a single team's preference, and not necessarily a team of FE engineers

oceanstone··on ACF Plugin no longer available on WordPress.org
Thanks for improving on ACF. The plugin went downhill after the creator stepped away, IMO.

A while back, I bought a lifetime "Pro" license for ACF. It worked great for years. The last few times I tried ACF though, the admin experience felt degraded. My impression was their early customers had become an afterthought.

Looking forward to trying SCF. I have higher hopes for the plugin now.

The article mentions "And, indeed, even Alphabet/Google internally have said this."

Just a reminder, any employee can write a document saying anything.

oceanstone··on That Google memo about having ‘no moat’ in AI was real
Anyone at Google can write a memo about anything.

Obviously, GitHub is private property
oceanstone··on Republishing a fork of the sanctioned Tornado Cash repositories
Obviously, the threat is deployed forks with high TVL
oceanstone··on Republishing a fork of the sanctioned Tornado Cash repositories
I'm hoping the government makes money laundering harder. North Korea laundered a billion dollars through Tornado: https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/north-ko...
oceanstone··on Republishing a fork of the sanctioned Tornado Cash repositories
That's good to hear, because the code itself should be considered free speech
oceanstone··on Republishing a fork of the sanctioned Tornado Cash repositories
Hopefully the government can identify any forks that achieve meaningful TVL and taint the coins
oceanstone··on Republishing a fork of the sanctioned Tornado Cash repositories
Tornado needs TVL to effectively launder money for criminals. Forks without much TVL don't seem that dangerous

Google offers a lot. They want to offer more. The market will determine what's valuable.

oceanstone··on Bandcamp is waiving fees today in support of artists
Gentle Return released his new album on May 1st, so the timing was perfect. I've heard from musician buddies that even with the normal fees, Bandcamp gives them a much larger cut of song/album sales than iTunes, and apparently streaming revenues from Spotify, Apple Music, etc are a joke.

That sounds very cool! Which compute stick do you have, the Intel Atom Z8350? Also, have you experimented with ways to change effects on the fly?

Thanks for sharing your setup, that sounds awesome! I'm curious, how is the latency? Also, how are you getting sound out of the compute stick?
