Awesome story
olantonan··on Loneliness can be depressing, but it may have helped humans survive
None of the posts in that archive are troll posts. Another false claim from Hintjens.

> decades of careful documented research and reproducible results, is magical thinking and not science is... hallucinatory.

Right, the same careful research that helps me characterize personality disorders in my day job. You really should stop doing hobbyist research, because The Psychopath Code proves how badly it can end.

Quitting Twitter. Not quitting Twitter.

Dying. Not dying.

Sustrik is God. Sustrik is Satan.

What's up with this guy.

> The main point I think is, that GET Requests are logged in log-files which are usually accessible by more people that the main database.

This is an outright assumption, and it's a bad one.

This is a non-issue, because they do NOT log these requests, and it's https.

So move on, this is just noise.

Now it's to late to fix.

So the idea is to always send the interpreter, along with the data? They should always travel together?

Interesting. But, practically, the interpreter would need to be written in such a way that it works on all target systems. The world isn't set up for that, although it should be.

Hm, I now realize your point about HTML being idiotic. It should be a description, along with instructions for parsing and displaying it (?)

About categorical change, I agree... seems like everybody is just busy optimizing stuff invented in the 70s.

Do you have an opinion on text based vs visual programming languages? I think the latter is good for learning, but feel impractical in my day-to-day job. Is there a sweet spot?

No language today is able to improve itself like Smalltalk was able to. That's pretty sad, wouldn't you say?

Does it suck getting old for you? Do you have stamina to make new stuff?

I'm old, very hard to stay on top of all the changes.

"who could possibly fake these?"

Copying from other sources. I'm not saying it's fake, just curious about verification as someone claimed so.

For instance, your "vouch", are you an official HN account. How can I tell?

Thanks, I'll do that. Looks legit to me, but got curious about the verification process.

Reddit commenter implying this AMA is fake. How are HN accounts verified? How do we know this is a real AMA? Just curious.

There's still no good languages for young kids in my opinion. Should we get LOGO back, including a turtle robot?

I'm no doubt your biggest fan. What do you think of the Simula inventors work?
olantonan··on I wrote a small piece on planned death
Most people die a sad death. Pieter Hintjens dies committing.

I will follow suit and keep a git client close to my death bed when it's my time.

Pieter, I am so sorry to hear about this. Not sure if you need it, but I (and maybe others) would like to offer some money to help your family. It's not unheard of for people at your age to have debt, etc. Anyway to set this up?

I cannot begin to say how much I love your work. Thank you!
