Quite a problem since the default theme (of the prior version at least) was a mess.
But that's despite many efforts made to keep that code understandable, maybe even documented. If now that's not even tried the results will be a thousand times worse - and the dependency on the LLM absolute.
(It even had graphic errors, green textures in the faces etc giving everything a very alien look. But that's not what I mean).
(I can see the need for remote monitoring, that the freezer actually worked. Controlling the temperature is the issue.)
I used to play only local files, and then during a time at university played in the office music on Youtube. One specific album got stuck in my head, but for a long while afterwards didn't find it again. No name, no lyrics - not a good starting point. I just remembered a pink unicorn and that is was psychedelic rock and that the singer sang with a specific deep voice. After several rounds of research (the same youtube channel is still up) and looking through uploads of the timeframe and their recommendations it turned out I misremembered: The cover had a rainbow cat looking into the distance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ea1mYXUcBY, Whoopie cat).
How I remembered was funny. I talked to someone about this, researched while, then talked again, when something came over me to look to the side into the distance with a slightly open mouth - just to suddenly realize that this face was on the cover, not the unicorn!
But actually, I still have that image of the unicorn cover in my mind (one color silhouette, hoofs into the air, but who knows at this point). The Whoopie cat album is definitely one I heard back than and it was the music I was searching for, but the unicorn cover probably also existed in that space and was a different album. Or did I just imagine something based on space stallions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Otaq2tmNMM)?
After that experience I set up a local music player again and downloaded some of the albums I wanted to remember.
I'm sorry, but then that article fails. It is very repetitive without clearly answering the differences. It gives the LLM feeling because it does not give a straight-forward answer to what the alternative actually is. Yes, something the agent can call itself while doing the task without having to pre-process the data, but that encompasses basically everything. What exactly is the proposal, what is the thing that was (according to the title) built?
Instead you get a quick answer box after the introduction that repeats the introduction, and the FAQ at the bottom leads with two similar sounding points. Even for an LLM-generated document that's not a good result.
I remember specifically being surprised that she didn't put the phone inside the bag.
It seemed important. Instead of hiding a technical artefact it was presented to outside world by someone obviously placing a lot of importance on their looks.
Think about how different the target group for blackberry for example had been, or how little glamour the (mostly) cheap and small nokia phones of the past years had been.
Then yes, sure. My opinion matches what's the overall tenor of this thread. It's not astroturfing, mullenweg just has lost that much support.
Also, remember the exploding Samsung phone. Experiments with batteries are risky for those companies.
Even if brave were problematic it would be the lesser evil to me.
And all other devs will leave the field just because they prefer to work differently? That is not only not realistic, it is violence fuel.
But it is even more about timing. Nvidia shifted to RTX afterwards, opting to go for raytracing and upscaling instead of making strictly faster cards. Which made the last GTX cards very competitive for regular usage, raising its status.
But there are also a lot of watches that are more expensive, way more expensive than the pebble. Plus the typical price for the smartwatches, I just checked the Samsung galaxy watch, over 300€. The pebble looks fine there.
You are correct, the microG ban is gone from the sidebar. That's nice.
(Why this was so important: During covid the official contact tracker in Germany needed microG/the play services, a newer alternative then bundled the scanner or something, so worked without. But that took time and was less official. When it becomes life and death impractical positions like that hurt).
It's okay if you dont want to discuss it. To share my position anyway: You need the option to have root so the device belongs you (and not the Rom), VoLTE is an existential threat and the ban stiffles all options to easily get information about the situation. That's the main point: Banning topics completely does only make things worse, and it is not like the project tried not to ban these topics for how many years now, a decade? An Autobot answer should suffice for making the problems known.
There is corruption in Germany, but it simply does not exist at this level. It also wouldn't work in practice: You would have to find out who is the office worker working on your documents (you usually don't know that, and never in advance). Then that person has safeguards: He is part of a team, someone will check his work, usually at least a colleague and his boss. Assume you'd try anyway, you meet the person somehow alone - how would you find out whether he is corruptible? If you try to ask you will face severe consequences.
Plus, it's never worth it for him: If they were caught they would be facing jail time, lose their job, all the benefits already earned (the special pension state servants get, their health insurance, ...). You'd have to offer that much money that all of that is worth it. Not even twenty times the money we are talking about here would be enough.
