It looks like they've been around since 2010, which surprises me because GitHub was around for a year or two before that iirc. I still envy that username, though!

I always loved downloading them DRM-free. Because it felt like I had actually owned it instead of just reading it from some website that could snatch it back at any second. I know Library Genesis is still up and running fine, but this is a warning of things that could happen.

I'm curious, how hard would it be to make a Firefox extension out of this?

Agreed. It really takes me back to the old days of the Internet, with fun little easter eggs like this!

Google is evil, today. They didn't even have to change their site.

RIP, HN hug of death.

Yep. It's got all you could want from Firefox -- Mozilla free. (+more)

This is awesome. I've been looking for color palette generating sites for a while, and this one is pretty good.

Saw another HN user's comment about automatic battle-bot features. Maaaybe it's not the best idea in this case!

I'm all for robots taking over the world, that is, if I get my tacos.

I think having a plain email signup/login would be best, especially since a lot of people are moving away from Google and going to alternatives.

Plus the big ASCII art at the bottom of the file.

These Apple "updates" are just going to get crazier and crazier, aren't they?

Sorry since this isn't related, but why was almost everyone's account in the comments created 5 hours ago... right when this post was made?

One complaint is that it requires a Google account to sign up. It does make sense why this is a feature, but it's still kind of annoying.

I've noticed that this happens a lot more when SafeSearch is turned on, not sure why this happens though.

I was able to get through this thread, guess I haven't zombie'd out too much.

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/54mNm Archived this a few days ago since I knew they'd fix the typos quickly.

Also I should probably add (though I'm sure you got this covered), if you make a web client that supports direct messaging, make it work correctly! (unlike Instagram)

Make a web client and I'm sold.

It's basically like Wikipedia but it uses Git. I made a couple articles to test out the editing and it's pretty good so far.

Just created an account, time to share knowledge!

Cool, I found that HN is #49923

It's really annoying that all these new projects are using Telegram. Discord I can handle, but Telegram is a pain to setup. I'm not gonna plug my phone number into some botnet.

> neither WiFi nor BT I understand having WiFi, it'd be great for a small device like this. But why would we need Bluetooth? It only has 32MB of RAM so I doubt you could get any music running on it.

well yeah, but why would they want to block out the "orange website"?

I agree. It's still a really neat project though.

This is a great idea, I like that you can generate lists for DuckDuckGo as well. It'd be cool to also see lists for SearX, too. I see a lot of these list websites online but this one allows for more specific use cases rather than the "block everything" ones that I usually find.

Kind of unrelated to the whole Google thing, but this Synth browser is a really cool idea. I'll read more into it when I get the chance!

currently getting an internal server error on your website, but I can't blame you for being on the front page!
