Hello I'm Tad Chef, online publisher since 1997, Web 2.0 enthusiast and social media power user. I blog for several years, contributing among others to Google Blogoscoped or CSS Globe. My new blog redefines what many misunderstand, SEO. It's called SEO 2.0 - http://seo2.0.onreact.com

onreact-com··on Model forces Google to reveal blogger's identity
As long as they work for a publication that has a real address of their office it's enough.

When they operate a blog or website on their own they also have to publish a so called imprint including an address (which might be an office address though).

Journalists and everybody else working from home have no choice for their sites and blogs.

onreact-com··on How to Eat on a Dollar a Day
Who cares for left or right as long as it's the best way and more people live a good life? So stop talking divisions focus on the justice like in "just" here.
onreact-com··on How to Eat on a Dollar a Day
Well, not really. Those people are rather pissed because we in the West waste resources eating for 10 or 100$ a day while they have to starve or survive on one dollar.

When we curb our consumption there is actually more left for the rest of the world. It's that simple.

onreact-com··on Model forces Google to reveal blogger's identity
I'm not so sure about that. While this case seems obvious bloggers in Germany on the other hand are required by law to publish their identity and real life street address.

This way many people are afraid to publish articles that might be controversial. Some already have been attacked by fascists or been shut up by lawyers.

Not to mention China of course where blog publishers have to register with authorities.

OK, MB is not perfect either but I still prefer it to PayPal and use it whenever I can.

Also MB has some security advantages. You can already notice on the front end (captcha etc.)

onreact-com··on Don't just howl with rage. Try an idea that does away with banks altogether.
I think the difference is that you are still the lender while a real bank just takes your money and does whatever it likes with it without even asking you. On Zopa you decide that you actually lend 500 or 5000$.

Bankers and government officials work together on this so don't really expect each other to bite the hand that feeds them.
onreact-com··on PayPal Doubles Fees, Forgets to Tell Customers
No, Moneybookers is popular globally as well and it's cheaper plus more reliable and secure.

Next time an infectious disease strikes you might want to flee once you're infected as the army will probably hunt you "to save humanity".

Sounds like they're preparing to kill swine flu patients or maybe the next time a really dangerous virus hits as swine flu is less dangerous than seasonal flu actually. Nonetheless it's scary.
onreact-com··on What Europeans do at Night
I guess people in Europe go out at night while in American Suburbia there is no alternative to go online.
onreact-com··on YCRFS 1: The Future of Journalism
Yeah, makes sense. Contenture already offers some enhancements for paying users as well. They're not as advanced as you propose but they go in the right direction.

Your idea is very good but I guess it needs one or two years to become a product or service, by then Contenture will have evolved into something similar I guess.

onreact-com··on YCRFS 1: The Future of Journalism
As far as I understand something similar already exists, at least twice. I only remember the whereabouts of one of those. It's a service launched recently by the people from Clicky Analytics. It's called Contenture.

See here:

Why don't you start small?

Seek out chess partners or whatever nerdy hobbies you prefer, offer "free entrepreur advice", make a weekly "technology meeting" and see what people show up etc. etc. etc.

You don't have to risk high expenses or consider moving already.

onreact-com··on Gravity to Save 90% Energy When Using a Fridge
Hey, for all those who complain about the poor usability: This is a low budget DIY hack!

In case you want to solve the same problem with a usable product on a big budget you can too, using horizontal compartments:

onreact-com··on Gravity to Save 90% Energy When Using a Fridge
You just offered a solution for the problem you outlined: "This fridge would need all kinds of little compartments and shelves to keep things like produce from going to the bottom and getting squashed." So the problem is solved :-)

More visual pollution. Soon enough people will hit you with a car or rob you on the street and afterwards tell you they work for an insurer or something. They just wanted to show you how important insurance is.

onreact-com··on How People in America Spend Their Day
To suggest that household work is not work is old fashioned to say the least. Studies have shown that not "working" mothers actually work 80h+ weeks doing "household activities" like child rearing, cleaning, cooking, washing dishes etc.

Men even when they stay at home do only 60h of it as far as I remember the numbers.

I've seen it for a while but assumed it's my fault, a reload problem or something.
onreact-com··on How People in America Spend Their Day
It's funny that "household activities" are not labeled "work". Don't tell your wife about that.
