What a great way of framing it. I've been trying to explain this to people, but this is a succinct version of what I was stumbling to convey.
1. A Chrome extension that slowly rotated every <div> on the page (think 1 degree every 10 minutes). Would be hard to notice unless a page had been left open for a while. 2. Another Chrome extension that would redirect to a full-screen gif of John Cena that would only load after a random number of page loads. 3. A horn sound that would play after every successful git commit, regardless of computer volume. 4. A Slack bot that would scrape another coworker's insufferable Reddit comments, store them in a database, and then use ML to interject the comments into our conversations based on some basic NLP. This one was my favorite.

And if the free market solves this, why are we in this situation in the first place? Shouldn't the free market have solved this already? Instead we have piles of empty houses/buildings and more homeless than ever before.

Sounds like you may read them, but you don't understand or appreciate them, Mr. Vargas.
The most common thing you'll find are Montessori preschools (3-6 years old). The biggest thing I got out of it was the love of learning. Children in a Montessori classroom are able to learn at their own pace, so if you gravitate towards numbers before reading, that's facilitated. Other way around? No biggie. It turns out child development at that age is pretty flexible, and most children all get to where they're supposed to be by the end of those 3 years.
The other benefit is the mixed-age classrooms. Younger kids are able to see the older children as role models, and the older children are able to _be_ that role model for the newer kids. All of this together creates an environment that often graduates children that seem to be more confident in themselves and in their innate abilities.
I will say that transitioning to a traditional school in first grade was a bit of a culture shock, but the lessons learned in Montessori definitely carried over. I still have that love of learning, and a strong inner voice.
My wife's school is Montessori through 8th grade, and her experience is that the children that graduate excel in whichever high school setting they go to, but this is of course anecdotal.
So the quality of Montessori schools can vary greatly even down to the classroom/teacher level, due to a lack of standardization on teacher education, teacher training philosophies, and school philosophies.
Would be a good start.
Creating a company _should_ be collaborative, but our current capitalist system has actually become more exploitative.
I tried the Adderall and the focus I always lacked was there; it felt almost like a super power. I explain it like being Cyclops from X-Men. I had this laser beam of focus: whatever I looked at I could focus on for as long as I wanted. But it also felt a bit like a performance enhancing drug, and something that was changing who I was by changing my brain, so I stopped taking it.
Recently I've started seeing a therapist who explained that my ADHD is not a deficit of attention, but a different way of how my brain works. Since I'm always thinking about a ton of things all at once I'm able to tie things together better than a lot of people I've worked with (or been in school with). If there's a crisis situation things slow way down for me and I'm able to think really clearly in the moment, instead of panicking.
The best part was that it was explained to me that if I ever needed to focus the way other people do (on things that I struggle to focus on), I can always temporarily "switch" my thinking by taking an ADHD drug.
TLDR: Initially rejected diagnosis, but have accepted it thanks to a better explanation from a professional.
