> They are putting a financial incentive behind accurately predicting the future, which makes these apps basically the most accurate predictor of the future. Available to anyone to view, for free.

Here, let me predict a future where someone will die. On the other side, let me pay for a hit on the same person. /s

^It's a bit extreme and exaggerated, but it's like that on purpose to make a point.

parthdesai··on Anthropic may not secure investment-grade rating after IPO, Blackstone says
I think even if the moat dries up, you could think of tokens/inference similar to compute. There's all the open source tooling available in the world for you to rent your own bare metal servers/racks and use a white glove service, yet there is demand for cloud.

At current prices, it makes sense to self host, but if the price goes down and the demand grows across different verticals, there is room for this business.

parthdesai··on Leak website releases data on DHS employees
That is the line govt uses/used to justify mass surveillance. OP is just flipping the table?

Do those doxxed victims have significant power over an average person?

With great power comes greater responsibilities

parthdesai··on Anthropic trained Claude on illegally obtained Stanford professors' books
> They didn't copy the texts per-se, they studied the relationships between words to build a statistical/predictive model of natural language

This is doing a lot of heavy lifting, especially when you consider the scale

parthdesai··on Anthropic S-1
Majority of the people at my company switched to Codex. All it goes to show is that performance difference at this point is minute and is a matter of taste
parthdesai··on Aulico: A TradingView Alternative

parthdesai··on Google open-sources TorchTPU, a native PyTorch back end for TPUs
Why be rude on purpose? OP clearly prefaced by saying it was a dumb question
parthdesai··on Hello Toronto – Waymo Is En Route
They will also need mother nature to co-operate. Last winter was brutal in terms of snow, we barely had any snow the year before that!
parthdesai··on Redesigning Source Control at Anthropic
Why is this on the front page? The article doesn't really have any new insights
parthdesai··on Our $445M Series D
They just paid income tax?
parthdesai··on OpenAI annualised revenues $20B less than previously signalled
> I think the fact that we have so little information is the most important information we have. If OpenAI had a sound business plan and was on strong financial footing, they'd have IPO'd.

What about Stripe?

parthdesai··on Trump administration is suspending Microsoft from a green card program
If you remove the path from H1-B to residency, you reduce the incentive for a lot of people to go through the H1-B hell to begin with.

Speaking personally, my Dad put me in a university in Canada instead of USA since the path to permanent immigration was so much smoother.

parthdesai··on DHH shows Rust significantly outperforming other languages on Campfire

parthdesai··on Harvard particle physicist Matthew Schwartz drops 36 papers authored with Claude

parthdesai··on How Delhi cut electricity loss from 50 to 5 percent
I've no horse in this debate; why create a throwaway account for this comment?
parthdesai··on How Delhi cut electricity loss from 50 to 5 percent
I mean that was one of the reasons why he got re-elected twice in Gujarat. It's a shame what that party has devolved to now
parthdesai··on How Delhi cut electricity loss from 50 to 5 percent
It's so weird reading these comments, we didn't have either of these issues in Gujarat in early 2000s (left India in mid 2000s).
parthdesai··on 9 Ads per Minute: FIFA Cup 26 – "the price of the beautiful game"
> I'm from North America where jerseys are largely NBA, NHL and MLB. No ads (although, NHL has started). But the euro jersey has the biggest ad dead fucking center.

This is what you said word for word.

parthdesai··on 9 Ads per Minute: FIFA Cup 26 – "the price of the beautiful game"
As someone who didn't grow up in NA, i don't understand this attitude. At least in soccer (football), we don't have to sit and watch ads and waste our time (barring the NA world cup). I know a league game will take ~2 hours to complete with a 15 minute half time break. I can allocate that time and then move on with my life. I much rather have that than having to sit through ads that end up taking more time than actual playtime! NBA used to have a thing called TV timeouts. But hey you don't get ads on the jersey
parthdesai··on Cloudflare Quick Tunnels
if both your mac mini and your phone are on the same tailnet, can't you just ssh to your mac mini from your phone's terminal emulator and have claude code/codex run on it?
parthdesai··on Neki – Sharded Postgres
There's obviously more to the story than outsiders are aware, but personally it just leaves a bit of sour taste in my mouth when the tech and blog posts you guys put out are amazing.
