pspeter3··on Show HN: Capsule – Single-file web apps that save their data into SQLite
My dream is that you could write to Google Drive or iCloud Drive transparently too if the browser allows you to
pspeter3··on DuckDB V2 PEG-based SQL parser
I am curious if this means we could have a Duck SQL Oxfmt plugin?
pspeter3··on Building an HTML-first site doubled our users overnight
I think Remix brought back interest in Form Actions and other meta frameworks took inspiration from that.
pspeter3··on Show HN: Files.md – Open-source alternative to Obsidian
What makes Golang a great fit in your opinion?
pspeter3··on HTML as an Accessible Format for Papers (2023)
Why epub? Isn’t it just HTML under the hood?
pspeter3··on Pocketbase – open-source realtime back end in 1 file
I agree but I’ve never been sure what that version of the product looks like then.
pspeter3··on Why we migrated from Python to Node.js
I'm curious about who else is using MikroORM. I see a lot of hype around Prisma, Drizzle, and Kysely but MikroORM has always looked interesting.
pspeter3··on Do you know that there is an HTML tables API?
I’m curious what changes the author would like to see to the API
pspeter3··on Hosting SQLite Databases on GitHub Pages (2021)
I wonder if the author would use DuckDB WASM now?
pspeter3··on Triangle Grids (2022)
Great write up on the pros of triangle grids. Did you consider using irregular triangles to help with the math? Eg a 2:1 triangle
pspeter3··on Show HN: OverType – A Markdown WYSIWYG editor that's just a textarea
Can you use highlights on text area contents?
pspeter3··on The 12-bit rainbow palette
Are there gray colors to go along with it? This seems great for charts though
pspeter3··on JavaScript Temporal is coming
That's a bummer. I wish there was a way to use non primitive objects in Maps & Sets more effectively then. Perhaps a well known Symbol for hashCode or something.
pspeter3··on TypeScript enums: use cases and alternatives
Are all strings under a certain length interned?
pspeter3··on I keep turning my Google Sheets into phone-friendly webapps
This is great, thanks!
pspeter3··on I keep turning my Google Sheets into phone-friendly webapps
I wish Google Sheets supported a REST API for their new tables feature so you could interact with them more like a database and less like a 2D array
pspeter3··on Google Maps is killing Timeline for Web
I tried to export my Timeline history but I cannot get the full version. My Pixel 8 has the full version but no way to export. My iPhone does have a way to export but does not have the full version.
pspeter3··on Show HN: I made a Chrome extension to clean up your Gmail inbox locally
I still wish GMail supported deleting attachments without deleting the whole email.
pspeter3··on RFC 9562: Universally Unique IDentifiers (May 2024)
I'm curious why they specify the UUID must have dashes in string format. It makes the UUID difficult to select with a double click.
pspeter3··on Self-hosting forms, the sane way
I had no idea that you could use the mailto: URL for a form action.
pspeter3··on Versioning data in Postgres? Testing a Git like approach
Which derivative?
pspeter3··on State of OpenID Connect Providers
I wish Discord supported OpenID Connect so I could use it as an authentication provider for Convex.
pspeter3··on Local-First Software (2019)
I had no idea Legend Keeper used CRDTs. That's awesome! What were some of the challenges?
pspeter3··on Toki Pona: A Language with a Hundred Words (2015)
This is awesome, thanks for the link!
pspeter3··on Meow Hash (2018)
I’m curious too about the differences between Murmurhash and xxHash. I’ve been using Murmur in my side projects.
pspeter3··on Ask HN: Do you self-host your database?
Do you use managed hosting as well? How do you make sure there is only one server at a time?
pspeter3··on SvelteKit Is in Public Beta
Vite seems to be powering many of these meta frameworks. Will it be the new Webpack?
pspeter3··on Tauri: An Electron alternative written in Rust
This was my first thought as well.
pspeter3··on Stimulus.js 2.0
Do you use Alpine with Turbolinks?
pspeter3··on Show HN: AI color palette generator for Tailwindcss
You could also try training from other palettes but it does look really good! Adding a grays would be key.
