ptnxlo··on The Nova Kakhovka Hydroelectric dam in Ukraine has been blown open
This is by far hilarious and sad. You have an interesting way to tweak facts and transform the narrative.

You could make a career out of it (if you haven't done so).

ptnxlo··on Finland Becomes a Member of NATO on Tuesday 4 April
> ... let's not pretend Russia in anyways benefited from this.

I hope you're not using only the wheat production of a country to formulate your answer on this.

ptnxlo··on Stripe announces new round of funding and plan to provide employee liquidity
The same Stripe we read complains and Tell HN stories every month ...
ptnxlo··on WezTerm is a GPU-accelerated cross-platform terminal emulator written in Rust
I've been using WezTerm for a year more or less and haven't had any problems so far. Whenever I want anything fancy I just go to the docs or dig through the Github repo (issues, PRs, etc) and that's all I need.

I just couldn't stand the petulant attitude of Alacritty's maintaner(s) and it didn't take much to find something else. Although I can't give this for granted now I haven't seen there's the same sort of behavior on WezTerm.

ptnxlo··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (February 2023)
Is this Remote US or Remote Global?
ptnxlo··on Tell HN: Coinbase is a joke (product and support)
That would be my first thought. Never had a problem with it.
ptnxlo··on Ruby 3.2’s YJIT is Production-Ready
Compilation won't tell you whether your code follows the business logic it's intended to do. You do need to rely on tests even if the implementation of the programming language compiles it or not.
ptnxlo··on Iranian attack drone found to contain parts from more than a dozen US companies
"Ukrainians claiming something doesn’t make it true"

Claiming what specifically?

"Here's an example of ..."

From how many examples? And what exactly do you see it's happening on the only video?

Asking just to understand what's the point you're trying to make.

ptnxlo··on Ask HN: Developer abused “sign in with GitHub”?
Follow up of this. The nopecha.com site does not have a Github sign in anymore (only Google at the moment). Looking through Github the organization nopecha seems to have been deleted and all its repositories return a 404 from Github, and seems to have been moved to a different organization recently created (and kept as public) Can't avoid feeling curious what has happened.
ptnxlo··on Telegram: No-SIM Signup, Auto-Delete All Chats, Topics 2.0 and more
"Telegram has no ties to Russia", this sounds like a statement. How sure are you of this?
ptnxlo··on Telegram: No-SIM Signup, Auto-Delete All Chats, Topics 2.0 and more
That's not the only way money can end up in Russia. Having employees there is a simple one.
ptnxlo··on Putin grants Russian citizenship to Edward Snowden
That might apply to Peskov's son, I don't see how it's valid for Snowden.

The only use of Snowden I can imagine so far is the same they gave to Medvechuk during last week.

ptnxlo··on President Putin has announced a partial mobilization in Russia
Explain the difference between Putin's regime and the Russian population.
ptnxlo··on YaLM-100B: Pretrained language model with 100B parameters

ptnxlo··on Ask HN: What games are you playing?
Call of Duty Warzone. It's free
ptnxlo··on Ask HN: What games are you playing?
I used to play Pokemon Trading Card, the game, and started to realized I didn't have any chance on getting good cards from the packs I got for free. Like if you don't pay they make the game real difficult, doesn't this happen with Magic?
ptnxlo··on YDB – An open-source Distributed SQL Database
Benefiting from something doesn't mean you won't suffer losses anyway. At this point which Russian company isn't performing negatively different since the day of the invasion?
ptnxlo··on Putin’s State Media News Is Interrupted: ‘They’re Lying to You’
90% of 140 millions of inhabitants is certainly a big number. Your example is quite extreme and might reflect that the country is completely out of context.
ptnxlo··on Poll: Is the leetcode grind necessary to land a high paying remote job?
Is the leetcode grind necessary to land a high paying remote job?

No. Why? There are companies that know what they do, have a good founding/income and they're willing to pay well if you can make a good impact in the company.

What does it have to do with Leetcode? Nothing. They can give you a development assignment when you're going to use technologies they use every day, the ones you're supposed to be used to and for problems they might be facing right now, saw before or they're expected to overcome probably soon.

What would a Leetcode interview give you instead? I'm all ears.

There are companies that send you generic Leetcode or any type of problems to solve in a couple of hours and you never see a face, nor know more about the business you're suppose to be working for the next time if you perform well (I'm looking at you Sumo Logic/Toptal). I wouldn't even bother if that's the case.

Leave leetcode and related just for newcomers and people learning CS. Isn't viable in most of the cases for day-to-day problem scenarios.
