pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: GoDaddy is refusing to take action against Domain Fraud, What can we do?
Thanks, I searched and GoDaddy indeed suspends domain if you violate their ToS, especially if it involves Phishing https://in.godaddy.com/community/Managing-Domains/Domain-Sus....
pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: GoDaddy is refusing to take action against Domain Fraud, What can we do?
Thanks for the link. It seems they have a fee of $1500 http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/guide/#i1, I will keep this as an option and will try to resolve it at Registrar/ICANN level itself.
pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: GoDaddy is refusing to take action against Domain Fraud, What can we do?
Thanks for the reply. I am curious to know if there is anything close to global internet law which covers such cases considering we are not in the US nor the fraud domain owner.

Taking help of our customers is actually a good idea. I am mailing them about this right now.

pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: GoDaddy is refusing to take action against Domain Fraud, What can we do?
Thanks for the reply. I am gathering all the information and hoping it can get resolved without going the legal route. I am certainly going to call GoDaddy and discuss possible legal action option too.

pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: What would you gladly pay $30/month for?
>> Looking to hear about things that don't exist, but should.

Girlfriend :)

On serious note, 1. TaskRabbit like service in India 2. Costly items on rent (say a watch or a laptop). It can be a marketplace where others are giving their products on rent and I am paying $30/month for the service. I can pay additional rental fees to the other party too. So this will be hybrid model of ebay + airbnb

pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: What's your Workspace like?
We are a 3 people company and this is our setup

1. MacBook Air + Sublime + github (major functionality development)

2. Ubuntu + vi editor + Aptana + dropbox (for small edits/backups)

3. Windows 8 + Photoshop (Design)

4. Dell Sutdio 1535 with windows vista - for gaming and porn, well mostly for porn

Technology Stack - RoR

Browser - Chrome

Other software - Thunderbird (emails) + empathy (chatting)

I have found project management and time tracking software to be some what inefficient so have stopped using them.

pushkargaikwad··on Mattermark Has Raised $2M in Our Second Seed Round
wholeheartedly agree with you since I am also on similar yet smaller boat.
pushkargaikwad··on 27 Websites to Submit your Startup after launch
The Post hit both reddit and HN homepage in matter of minute which brought the server down. Now it is up again.
pushkargaikwad··on 27 Websites to Submit your Startup after launch
Yes, I forgot to add Reddit. Ironically, this was also the first comment on Reddit that why not reddit ? :) Here is the reddit thread btw http://www.reddit.com/r/startups/comments/298a8l/27_websites..., there are some good sites also listed there
pushkargaikwad··on 27 Websites to Submit your Startup after launch
Sorry, the post also hit Reddit startups homepage at the same time and that is why the server crashed. I will install CF right now :)
pushkargaikwad··on Bannerman (YC S14) Delivers Bouncers On Demand
Interesting concept but there are no entry barriers for such businesses, right ? expect 10 similar sites to start targeting local markets. I thought sevicemagic and similar sites in US already offer this. Anyway it looks to be a good business model so at least the base is strong and they will make money.
pushkargaikwad··on Show HN: inBoundio – Basecamp of Marketing (Single Founder and Bootstrapped)
I am not sure how much visibility this post will get still, I built inBoundio because I wasn't able to find a simple marketing software and the once available in the market were costing $2500/year so I thought to build one which is like Basecamp for Marketing costing $29-$49 and has less and simple features.
pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: Which is the most suitable day to launch my startup publicly?
Thanks, I certainly understand that, since we only launch it once, I want to make sure I get the timing right.
pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: Which is the most suitable day to launch my startup publicly?
I was thinking the same. So Tuesday Morning it is.
pushkargaikwad··on Why Startups Need to Focus on Sales, Not Marketing
I am running a one man bootstrapped startup (I prefer to call it a business then a startup) inBoundio, which is a marketing software and for me, having 1 paying customer is more important than 100 users. I get paying customers through sales, users through marketing.

For Startups, Effective sales will make your marketing better.

pushkargaikwad··on What It Feels Like When Your Startup Fails
Isn't failure the default status of a startup ?

nice share btw,

>> I’ve finally come to realize the obvious — if you lose your will to survive, you’ll die.

>> If you don’t want to fail, find your will to stay alive, everything else will follow.

pushkargaikwad··on If ICANN only charges $0.18 per domain name, why am I paying $10?
Domain business is one of the most shadiest business on the web. I wasn't aware of the verisign fees but honestly, it is about time to either disrupt whole domain industry or start democratizing it. Every registrar company take its users for a ride.
pushkargaikwad··on Show HN: Betatype - A freelance site where clients pay $3,500 for prototypes
I liked the idea, atleast Betatype will have less noise and better quality of developers/hackers. I wonders how will the quality be maintained though. Also there is thin line between what are beta products ? will you prescreen the projects posted ? also there are good chances that buyers will misuse the service due it being flat cost in nature. Expect people asking for N number of features and changing deliverable as well as unsatisfied buyers.
pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: Cheap Physical servers?
Can you also post at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/, almost every major host and independent resellers/hosts are there and few years back I was able to find excellent server for just $90
pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: Instead of Finding a Cofounder, find a Startup to Merge with?
Pretty good initiative but you want to be careful, merger of 2 startups who are not doing well won't make a successful one (successful once normally don't have finding a co-founder as high priority nor they will merge easily with others).

Always make sure, your personality, character and goals matches with the other person, the rest is all secondary.

pushkargaikwad··on Quora Raises $80M Led by Tiger Global, Now Valued at $900M
As much as I like Quora, I don't think it is growing as fast as it should have as they rely heavily on search engine traffic for new user registration.

I won't be surprised if they add linkedin like features of networking and may offer quora groups, the whole site still looks very beta.

pushkargaikwad··on Reasons Not To Raise Venture Capital
They will certainly exit before the fund wraps up
pushkargaikwad··on Reasons Not To Raise Venture Capital
This is what I have learnt from my experience and what I have seen in Indian startup ecosystem

1. VC making money, Company making money and Founders making money are three different things. Don't get confused between them. Most often, the founder get the leftover, with big exit, it can be huge amount but not for everyone.

2. VCs are there to make money. That's it. That is there ONLY goal. Anyone VC firm who is saying that they are behind entrepreneurs, they are NOT. They are only after money and the entrepreneur is between them and money. So if your goal is same as their's, start chasing money.

3. You will lose your freedom for ever once you raise VC money and along with it, your choices.

pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: PR – How does it work...
Ben, this is a very well written PR (even if you copied the style) and I think you should go ahead and publish it (I personally feels most of the Press releases are not worth it but yours looks to be something which can be published).

Can you check at fiverr.com and oDesk.com, I know there are some really good people there (you need to some searching though) who can make it better, I had done some PR work myself (syndication) so feel free to contact me via http://www.inboundio.com/contact_us if you need any help or guidance.

pushkargaikwad··on Ask HN: Best way to get out of work mode?
I go for Walk, specially late night after 10:30 pm.

I actually try to go for 3 walks every day, one in the noon, one the evening and one in the night, as I see people (I am in India so there are people everywhere!) and as I talk to them, it makes me feel good and often relaxes.

People say Music also relaxes but honestly, you should leave your desk and room if you really want to get out of work mode.
