pwr22··on AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition crams 208MB of cache into a single chip
I'm interested to know if the L3 cache all behaves as a single pool for any core on either CCD, whether there's a penalty in access time depending on locality or whether they are just entirely localised.
pwr22··on Wiz joins Google
Or the GP2X Wiz handheld (which will be forever what comes to mind first for me )

pwr22··on ChatGPT Saved My Life (no, seriously, I'm writing this from the ER)
Lots of gushing about AI but I'm not really too interested in that.... more about what's up with your missing platelets! I'm assuming it's not at all a good thing to suddenly not have any without any prior history of things related to this? Hope everything works out okay in the end :).
pwr22··on Opposing arrows of time can theoretically emerge from certain quantum systems
There's a Philip K Dick story that covers this type of thinking, "Your appointment will be yesterday".

It's not a symmetric exercise, look at the feet. You'd probably want to keep the overall workout balanced by alternating periodically?

I may be the only person in the universe but... I don't see it. Looks fine to me .

pwr22··on Coherer Effect [video]
I was wondering when watching the video if Mehdi's supposition about an oxide layer is the only thing at play or whether there could be a layer of air instead / as well?
pwr22··on Penguin T4 GNU/Linux Laptop
> While the T4 is thin and light at just .97 inches thick and 4.63 lbs it still boasts a DVD-RW drive (w/ opt. for Blu-ray)

It's an inch thick and weighs over two kilos. That's not really thin or light...

pwr22··on Need More RAM? Try Compressing What You've Got
Not sure what you mean, sorry. I don't use S3 for anything ATM.
pwr22··on Need More RAM? Try Compressing What You've Got
I'm thinking of writing a helper tool that can set up different types of services. Besides systemd what else is still used? Upstart still around? It's Devuan still SYS V?
pwr22··on Perl 5.26.0 released
I saw a talk at FOSDEM where a developer who worked at Booking said something along the lines of

- Big company bought lots of different hotel sites

- Big company decided to consolidate them into one system

- Booking (the Perl shop) won out

So I don't think it's necessarily just that "it started in Perl", if so then it could easily have been consolidated based on one of the other platforms that were not Perl based

pwr22··on Firefox 36.0 released
Maybe I can stop zooming all the way in all the time soon :)
