qrazhan··on It costs $110k to fully gear up in Diablo Immortal
There are a _ton_ of successful f2p games with reasonable monetization models - Valorant, CSGO, Warzone, Dota, Path of Exile, Lost Ark, Hearthstone, etc. It's just that games in general are a power law industry - I don't think monetization model is really what will prevent a game from being successful. In fact, much of the discourse around Immortal is that the gameplay itself is in fact top notch. Blizzard has the dedicated fanbase to make a healthy profit and more with a reasonable cash shop - they don't _need_ to resort to these extremely cash-grabby mechanics.
qrazhan··on Top Paying Tech Companies by SWE Level
A friend of mine was just hired as an IC2 at Oracle at 175k. He is on cloud stuff in Seattle, but by no means a senior or principal engineer -- only 1 year of experience.
qrazhan··on Stripe Capital
Square and PayPal both have similar offerings, which piece here do you feel is innovative?

(disclosure: I work at Square, but not on Capital.)

qrazhan··on Spaceflight from Super-Earths is difficult
Are there any harmful effects the increased surface gravity would have on the human body and if we were to live on these Super-Earths how would we mitigate them?
qrazhan··on Uber Sales Reach $7.5B in 2017
At least within SF, UberEats has become extremely fast in the last few months. I've had food come in as little as 15 minutes, and 20-25min seems average. Compared to other services that consistently take 45min+, this is amazing.
qrazhan··on CS Internship Recruiting Guide
Hey guys, I wrote a guide to help freshmen and sophomores in CS to get an internship. I'd really love any feedback you guys have.
qrazhan··on Hearthbreaker: An open source Hearthstone simulator for machine learning
Dropbox actually held a recruiting event at Berkeley the other day where one of their engineers gave a talk on writing Hearthstone bots using Sikuli.
qrazhan··on Show HN: My first Android app – a Product Hunt client
Well, I should clarify, this is the first app I've released on the Play store. I've made a few small apps before, but they were just class projects. (I'm also an Android intern at Lockitron)
qrazhan··on Product Hunt iOS App
App looks great! I saw they made their website mobile friendly as well, and that looks really nice too.

Shameless plug: if you're on Android, checkout an app I made using the new PH API: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qrazhan.hu...

qrazhan··on A Diablo 3 Story
I suppose you could say it is a waste, but this entire story essentially started out as a fun side project. It would also "be a waste" to sit at your computer for 12 hours a day playing D3 and flipping items on the Auction House, but that's just the way some people play the game. Do all of your side projects really add that much value to society?
qrazhan··on Show HN: Voice - An iOS App that lets blind people read
My initial impression of this app is that it's a cool demo of OCR technology, but I'm not sure how useful it would actually be to blind people. How would they know if they are taking a good enough picture of the text in the first place? How do they even hit the button? I could see using one of the hardware buttons as a shutter could work, but I don't know if you can do that in iOS.

(Note: I'm neither blind nor an iOS user so I do not know how blind users use iOS. Please correct me if I am wrong.)
