I started a challenge I call “Dopamine Detox December” in which I stopped doing certain things to stop dopamine stimulants: - No social Media - No news - No video streaming services (such as YT, Netflix, and Amazon Prime) - No electronic and energetic music

I recently sat in yet another “alignment” call and started wondering — if we add up everyone’s time, what’s the actual cost of this meeting for a company?

So I did a quick back-of-the-envelope calculation using public data from Levels.fyi for Amazon.

The result surprised me: a single 1-hour meeting with a few senior people can easily cost €700 — and a recurring weekly call? Over €30,000 per year.
