red_Seashell_32··on Ask HN: Are hackathons still worth doing?
Last hackathon I participated in was merely "best presentation". Code, app did not matter, it was idea and presentation what mattered.

Thankfully, properly working app won that one, nonetheless they suck now.

red_Seashell_32··on Show HN: I built MyuiKits to ditch rebuilding the same components
How is this better than shadcn/ui registry and their main components?

And how can we preview those components without paying first? Nobody is going to pay for something what they don’t know what they are getting.

It’s better to look at other solutions, analyze and understand them to learn something new rather than giving up and not learning something new
red_Seashell_32··on Show HN: Nakso – An Excalidraw Alternative for Desktop
Looks like closed source - but internally it uses https://github.com/dgmjs/dgmjs

Same creator for both, but can’t find Nakso repository nor on dgmjs nor on their personal profile.

red_Seashell_32··on Mixpanel Security Breach
OpenAI was sending that data to MixPanel. If anything, OpenAI is culprit for sensitive data leak. There’s absolutely no reason to send that data.
red_Seashell_32··on Mixpanel Security Breach
It was SMS Phishing, a.k.a. Social Engineering.

It anything, it’s opposite of breach.

red_Seashell_32··on Show HN: A WordPress plugin that rewrites image URLs for near-zero-cost delivery
Easier for non-technical wordpress users who would struggle setting it up themselves.
red_Seashell_32··on Cloudflare Global Network experiencing issues
Just were talking about how Replicate might have better availability due to joining Cloudflare, and they too went down... Oops.
red_Seashell_32··on Living Forever?
This assumes that there are infinite branches of reality, and some of them are offset in time (and in some we are aware of other branches in those realities - otherwise, how do you avoid death?).

With that, probably until we die of age, so, 120-something?

But this is too speculative and with out understanding of world - impossible

red_Seashell_32··on Minesweeper Pro
How do I place flag on mobile?

red_Seashell_32··on Woc.space is a nice alternative of wetransfer
There isn't even Privacy Policy or Terms of Service. No information about cookie usage either. And it's registered in China.

Sounds way too fishy.

Shopify also had issues
red_Seashell_32··on Ask HN: Do you consider TikTok worse than Google for collecting data on you?
Google definitely collects more data, but TikTok’s data goes directly to China Government. Does same happen with Google? Maybe. However, in case of both of them doing that, from my perspective unfriendly/enemy country collecting that data is worse .
