rlewkov··on Meta takes down a critical video about meta AI Glasses after filming at Meta
Is the issue with person A videoing person B that a) B doesn't know they're being filmed b) B knows it and doesn't like it c) something else. I think likely b) so now we get to is whether A's conduct legal. If A is located in a public place, e.g., a public sidewalk, they can legally film whatever they can see. They can do this using a phone, Meta glasses, a camera on a tripod, etc. For example, A could stand on the sidewalk in front of your your house and legally film you through an open window. Kinda creepy but not illegal.

"Civic institutions—the rule of law, universities, and a free press—are the backbone of democratic life." Why are universities part of this set backbone items?
rlewkov··on Why agents are bad pair programmers
> "This leads me to conclude that using AI to write code that a(nother) human is one day to interact with is a no-go, for all the reasons listed." So, if one's goal is to develop code that is easily maintainable by others, do you think that AI writing code gets in the way of that goal?

"I've even seen more a few on military property in some crazy belief that all such places are open to public inspection." All the auditor vids that I've seen that involve military property have been where the person doing the videoing stands on the public sidewalk or roadway easement outside the military or government building and films, which of course makes for the desired confrontation. There may be some where they're on the actual military property which can result in them being trespassed.

rlewkov··on Amazon admits giving police Ring camera footage without consent
>I can, and absolutely will, object to someone recording my yard. You might not see a distinction but there absolutely is one. You certainly can raise an objection but it has no legal weight behind it. Anything that is in public view can be legally filmed. I think there may be some federal prohibitions against filming sensitive government areas though not sure if these have ever been testing in court. Walk around naked in your front yard or in your house in front of an open window you are eligible to be legally (though maybe creepily) filmed.
