there were a handful of artists early on but it really did morph into tech-focused creators (designers, developers, founders, etc) mostly because the early audience and guests pulled it in that direction
I will try to add some "messy reality" ones as well going forward!
I should try to add this soon.

I do agree that I should attempt to share more of the "messy reality" alongside the more staged photos, though.
I originally launched Workspaces on April 5, 2020 when world shifted to remote work.
The original idea was simple... interview one person a week, ask them about their setup, publish the photos and gear list.
It's now been 6+ years and 500+ interviews.
Each feature includes workspace photography, a short bio, a full gear list with links, and four interview questions. New issues go out every Saturday morning.
Would love to hear what you think!
Why was I interested in putting together this 18,000 word guide? Quite simply... I love email (seriously).
In 2020 I started an email newsletter that has grown to 12,000+ subscribers.
I then sold that newsletter and joined a YC-backed email company.
And now, I get to write about email every day.
This guide covers everything that I've learned along the way as well as things I wish I would've known when starting out.
I'd prefer if all guests listed their hardware/software though along with the picture(s).
I've never offered anyone anything for participating other than allowing them the opportunity to plug anything they'd like in their intro!
I handle all outreach/content organization through Twitter DMs and GMail.
I do all writing + publishing through Substack.
Starting next week I will have a much more visual site that's using Webflow. Super excited for the refreshing change!
For now you can shoot me a DM here https://twitter.com/rjgilbert or email me at ryangilbert dot co and we can kick things off!
In a ~week or so I will have a better way to welcome submissions :)
Weird flex indeed. Some (most) people are probably more productive in a clean and thought out workspace vs a laptop on a couch sort of deal. I think the spaces and the people behind them sort of proves that.
I think I have gotten very lucky in this regard and it might change if prices go up.
