rythmshifter03··on Lewis and Clark expedition left a trail of heavy-metal laxatives (2010)
As usual for Ambrose, Undaunted Courage is a phenomenal read.
rythmshifter03··on The United States Digital Corps
what?
rythmshifter03··on F-Droid Is Unreachable
no offense intended but this sounds largely like luck based on my personal experience with cloud providers.

Ansible
rythmshifter03··on NYC allows citizens to report idling vehicles in exchange for a cut of the fines
This is utter nonsense. Quality of life has improved in so many ways you must have simply not even bothered to check.

I need to stop commenting late at night.

rythmshifter03··on Criticizing Ukraine Is Free Speech, Too
I’ve heard virtually nobody mention the azov battalion.
rythmshifter03··on Ask HN: What do you use as your go-to source of world news?
Breaking Points. Krystal and Saagar are fantastic.
rythmshifter03··on One Humanity – DOOM 2 Level
I felt the same way about Doom and Duke Nukem on Nintendo Switch (of all things.) They really were a labor of love and it shows in a way that you do not really see anymore with these vast teams of people working for a decade on one game.

rythmshifter03··on How the Kosovo Air War Foreshadowed the Crisis in Ukraine
This aged like a pile of pork, typical for the noobs at the New Yorker I suppose

>Both the Ukrainian and Russian governments keep downplaying the probability of war and reprimanding journalists for fanning the fear. A prominent Ukrainian think tank run by the former Defense Minister has issued two reports, three weeks apart, arguing that a successful large-scale Russian invasion is not yet feasible. Everyone understands that the war would be both bloody and senseless—surely Russia doesn’t really want to occupy one of the poorest countries in Europe, inhabited by forty-four million people, most of whom have come to hate Russia. And in peacetime—even in fragile, relative peacetime—it’s always hard to imagine war.

This is amazingly useful to a person learning Linux in a corporate environment where they've just been thrown to the wolves to figure it out. Thank you!!
rythmshifter03··on Slack is down for some users
Please don't encourage the use of Zoom, they already have enough market share they don't deserve after lying through their teeth to the public on multiple occasions.
