sa-code··on Ask HN: Predictions for when GPT-5 will be released and how safe it will be?
The gpt-4 branding has made quite a reputation, I will not be surprised if they milk it until it lasts
sa-code··on Milvus Lite: The Lightweight Version of Milvus
Vector databases are just the easiest way to make a search engine in a demo.
sa-code··on Ticketmaster confirms data breach with a SEC filing
Nope those fees might as well be called "yachts for executives fee"
sa-code··on Codestral: Mistral's Code Model
This doesn't give the "shadow text" that the user specifically mentioned
sa-code··on Ilya Sutskever to leave OpenAI
The dolphins are actually openai
sa-code··on Claude is now available in Europe
I mean, that's who I would hire for trust and safety.
sa-code··on SEQUEL: A Structured English Query Language (1974)
I always thought it was pronounced "squeal"
sa-code··on Georgia Tech, Meta create open dataset to advance solutions for carbon capture
I think you're responding to the statement of not having kids at all, instead of the statement about adopting kids
sa-code··on The search for easier safe systems programming
They have their own version called struct which works in a very similar way. I feel like this should be mentioned when saying that `class` support didn't yet exist
sa-code··on The search for easier safe systems programming
Agreed, although the language still feels like a tech demo. They don't even have a package manager yet. I'm curious and hopeful to see what it looks like in a year
sa-code··on A 100x speedup with unsafe Python
What kind of support would you have hoped for?
sa-code··on Georgia Tech, Meta create open dataset to advance solutions for carbon capture
I would also like to add that adopting instead of having your own baby is the most effective way to save the planet
sa-code··on TypeSpec: A new language for API-centric development
Would you say it's an alternative to Open API?
sa-code··on Show HN: I made a privacy friendly and simple app to track my menstruation
Shout out to secuso! Their apps might not be the prettiest but they absolutely work and they work well. Very useful
sa-code··on Meta's gamble on chatbots opens new wave of tech competition
Which movie do you mean?
sa-code··on A useful front-end confetti animation library
I knew someone that made a PowerPoint presentation for their partner for Valentine's Day. So you're doing great in comparison
sa-code··on Fine tune LLAMA3 on million scale dataset in consumer GPU using QLora, DeepSpeed
Thank you for saying this! The number of people that would need to fine tune vs just using RAG is really small. People that are not familiar with the source often jump to fine tuning as an option
sa-code··on Nvidia to Acquire Run:AI
Run ai is not a mature product at this point though.
sa-code··on Cloudflare CEO bought a newspaper to change reporting about his new house plans
This sounds like "things are bad so let them get worse", which is not a good look
sa-code··on Meta Llama 3
EU actually has the opposite of draconian privacy laws. It's more that meta doesn't have a business model if they don't intrude on your privacy
sa-code··on Mixtral 8x22B
Fewer parameters at inference time makes a massive difference in cost for batch jobs, assuming vram usage is the same
sa-code··on Mixtral 8x22B
Is this the best permissively licensed model out there?
sa-code··on Embed Crystal code directly in Ruby
I think Python users are more on the mojo bandwagon rather than Nim now
sa-code··on A MySQL compatible database engine written in pure Go
Missed an opportunity to can this uSql!
sa-code··on Llm.c – LLM training in simple, pure C/CUDA
I see it as an excuse to talk about it more, and I'm happy to read it all
sa-code··on GPT Chatting with Xfinity support getting discounts
I would down vote this if I could.
sa-code··on Bringing GPU acceleration to Polars DataFrames in the near future
That's amazing. Hard to believe that Polars is only a 7 person company.
sa-code··on Jpegli: A new JPEG coding library
Or JPEGchen in high German
sa-code··on The Mojo Programming Language
There's no package manager and it's not practical to use other people's code. It's fun to play around with its SIMD ergonomics though. Definitely worth trying on a quiet weekend
sa-code··on The Mojo Programming Language
This doesn't include the SDK, which is bundled with their commercial offering and its license explicitly prohibits production use
