If it does many things it becomes a subordinate with an intelligence of its own, something you need to communicate with or talk to, as opposed to something you can simply use
If on iOS, the parental restrictions are awesome.
If on Android, restrictions are worthless so I usually use a blocker, set the phone to unlock by fingerprint and in addition have a system password (because of the possibility of logging in via "safe mode" which I so regret having discovered) written down on a piece of paper and hid inside my neighborhood Starbuck's sofa.
I mean, I do that sometimes. Once there was a thread discussing an app, and I wanted to know if the app has a certain feature. Instead of just asking whether it has that feature, I posted a comment saying "the only thing preventing me from switching to [app] is its lack of [feature]", thinking I'm more likely to get a response that way. And indeed right away I got a correction from an angry poster with just the information I was looking for. lmao
Currently I store everything in Excel. All the modifiers and modifier-combinations (lctrl, lalt, lshift, lctrl+lalt, lctrl+ralt+lshift ...) correspond to columns, all the modified keys (a-z, 0-9, ...) column to rows.
But being limited to 2 dimensions can be very inconvenient. For example since you have at least 6 modifier keys (ctrl, alt, shift keys on both left and right, 8 if you include windows keys, 9 if you include remapped capslock), trying to cover all the modifier combinations (e.g. lctrl+ralt+lshift) leads to combinatorial explosion and make the number of columns totally unmanagable. (It becomes even trickier when you want to define vim style sequences)
This looks like it's designed just for that purpose!!
minor: 1. Coach (US), not Gucci (Italy). 2. The author is a legit economist (expert on monetary policy), content from his blog has been posted on HN regularly. He recently posted a series of comments on China. If you're interested check them out at:

What do you think is the reason the economist sounds so dismissive of that idea?
