scott_c··on Computer Security Experts Urge Clinton Campaign to Challenge Election Results
So what happened to all the talk before the election about accepting the results as Democracy?

...What happened is that the people that said this expected to win the election..but didn't.

It really shows me that most people are phonies and they only believe in their own self-interests. The founding fathers were brilliant when they designed the electoral college. It stopped a criminal from becoming president.

You would think that the Democrats would learn from their mistakes. Rather than being bigoted, painting all opposing viewpoints with the same brush (while expecting more acceptance in return), and censoring free speech, you need to figure out why people voted for Trump.

Otherwise, we will have a 2-term president with no Democrats in sight for many years.

edit: The downvotes proves my point. Thanks! :-)

I'm not surprised. Zuckerberg tried to get Facebook employees to read the propaganda novel by the current President of China.

Does anyone else find this ironic that Facebook is trying to stop fake news and then create tools that essentially create it?

Didn't you get the memo from NPR? Conservative/Republican news is the only news that's fake. Liberal news is considered 'reality'.
scott_c··on Let's Say Obamacare Is Repealed. What Then?
"but unless you were matured to adulthood in a lab, it's hard to argue that men as a class do not benefit from improved and cheaper access to reproductive healthcare for women."

There are plenty of single men that should not be forced to pay for women's reproductive healthcare.

"What state do you live in? "

http://time.com/money/4535394/obamacare-plan-premium-price-i...

8 states rose by at least 30%.

"States could voluntarily permit policies to be sold from other states. For example, states in different regions could elect to normalize their regulatory schemes and open up their markets to each other. There's plenty of precedent for this. It doesn't require Congressional approval; just coordination among state legislatures like is so often done for other regulatory frameworks."

Great, but Obamacare in its current form needs to go.

scott_c··on Let's Say Obamacare Is Repealed. What Then?
The only thing I liked about Obama care was the pre-existing conditions clause. I think we should keep this and open insurance companies up across state lines. This should bring competition and reduce our overall rates.

We also need to be able to have plans where we can specifically choose what kind of care we need (IE: women, men, children, etc).

I run my own business and my costs went up 100% this year for a higher deductible and less coverage. If this happens again, I may not be able to afford it.

scott_c··on Why now, more than ever, we need a Twitter that works
What we need is a Twitter that doesn't ban accounts and suppress opinions solely based on opposing political viewpoints.
scott_c··on U.S. Citizens Now Hold About $1.3 Trillion in Student Loan Debt
The government-enforced student loan system is the problem. Universities know they can charge whatever they want for tuition, they will get their money up-front, and the students will be on the hook for it for life (and it can't be declared in a Bankruptcy).

We need to revamp the system so universities can't charge us these ridiculous rates.

"Hiring freezes, an end to automatic raises, a green light to fire poor performers,"

Why is getting rid of automatic raises and firing poor performers a bad thing?

scott_c··on “Move fast and break things” does not work in journalism
It also doesn't work that well in most technology companies. You will lose your customers pretty quickly if your site doesn't work as excepted or continues to break.

It works for sites like Facebook and Google because they have millions of users and momentum that is so great, they could have 404s for 90% of their services for weeks and millions would still come back.

They can also segment out a small section of users (which could be in the thousands) to test new and broken technology with almost no repercussions.

scott_c··on IRS just declared war on Bitcoins
Did you actually except to be able to exchange an unlimited amount of money without having to declare it on your tax returns?
scott_c··on Introducing "Fake News", The Fifth Horseman of the Internet Apocalypse...
I used to have a blog about software development about 8 years ago. I would constantly receive bodily harm threats from people that didn't like my articles...and this was non-aggressive articles about databases.

I'm glad I had Whois privacy in this situation, because I wouldn't want someone sending things to my house or contacting my family.

Not allowing privacy will more easily allow anyone to get harassed for their personal beliefs.

I feel like after the election, the world has started to get more fascist. Everyone wants to weed out and punish anyone that supports Trump.
