You may bundle the Electron runtime in an app or not. An app is started by "electron main.js", so once Electron is installed you have just to download an app and create an icon. Example with https://github.com/Scriptol/Advanced-Editor
You know that Munich is currently expecting Microsoft to create a big center in their city and the major (a pro-Microsoft guy) try to court them. That has nothing to do with the quality of Linux.
They claim that eating more meat increase longevity, against popular belief. But it is contradicted by what we can see: people that eat less meat like those in blue zones have higher longevity in fact.
Asm.js was a brillant idea, but wasm is more like a bytecode. This is where is the part from NaCl the author missed. Wasm is derived from asm.js but also an improvement on LLVM to make a portable bytecode, that LLVM is not. One more step in the LLVM toolchain to get portability...
If they get to build an efficient OS with a language running on a virtual machine and without pointers, they would have made a point. Only the future will tell.
And also send letter to FCC to encourage repeal Net Neutrality, try to make use of API copyrightable, try to steal Android revenues from Google with debatable reasons, and so ones... That is for the company in general, but for the customers of their database, there is also much to say.
I suppose they want to use their own UI and maybe link to some services or tools from Mozilla. But they should contact you to unite their effort with your: development time reduced from 3 years to 3 months (that is an approximation)...
If only you have read the article, it is said thay will block popups, video and other annoying ads. These things are the main incentives to install a blocker. It is a smart move, and maybe a late move.
It is amazing this article got more than 700 points because when I open the task manager and VSC is in IDLE, I see 0% in CPU usage. And the cursor is blinking!!!
I have used many languages, including Python, and I like JavaScript. It depend of lot of what you want to do with the language. If all the programmers you know are doing the same sort of tasks, such as server side scripts (the goal of Go), they have no reason to like JS.
There are sites written entirely in Flash and ActionScript, a platform that is now obsolete. Another attempt was Silverlight and XAML (and JavaScript), dead also. I am not sure the desire to abandon JS is shared by all.
I can not agree with the "making NO MONEY" assertion. Many users come here to get the opinions of others about a movie. Another example: The success of Amazon is for a part to the positive/negative comments because you need the experience of users about their product. The money do not come from the comment, but they bring visitors... and their money.
I would credit driverless car as a success of Google, imitated by many. They have failure too, fiber for example, and Google Plus.
Microsoft had also the big failure of Nokia phones, the results are mixed actually.
The work on that has been discontinued by W3C (https://www.w3.org/TR/file-system-api/), so we have to rely on extensions... It is a useful tool however, it could have saved me a lot of time if available earlier.
