scrollop··on Gemini 4 Carbon is the new #1 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5
Arena.ai has reviewed it using many tasks against SOTA models.

tldr; it's not as good as opus 5.5

If you'd like to see how it compares against other SOTA models-

Tldr; it's about as good as sol. Opus 5.5 is still generally the best though carbon can be very good.

As a doctor I would say this is incorrect.

Perhaps he is busy, and this is a passion project.

As he says, he doesn't have much time to research the entire book.

You think he has "weeks" to write it up for others?

I imagine there are thousands of interesting projects people are doing solo and can't be bothered creating website to share with others for.

If AI can do this- fantastic! Let people moan if they can't see the positives of this. He's not trying to win an award or is paid to create a site for the public.

"The problem with AI generated content is, it tells me you didn't care enough about the work to do it yourself."

It may be the translation, however, this project is a passion for him. I would guess the passion is the book itself, and though he wants to share his passion, I imagine creating the actual page for others is tedious compared to the work of discovering the book. I have had the same issue.

If an AI can save you time so you can continue with your passion, I say go for it. No one has paid you to create the page, he's not vying for an award. If people are interested they can read it.

There are likely many people out there doing remarkable work but they can't be bothered creating a website to share with others.

If AI can do that, fantastic - even though some people will moan. There are always people who complain.

Maybe he is translating to English. Maybe he is translating himself and this is an artifact of German.

"If an author doesn’t have time to write. Why should I give up my time to read?"

Perhaps he is taking the time to translate it for you, otherwise you'd have to do it yourself.

I wonder if all the AI companies are making dossiers on their users.

I would say meta and google definitely are. xAI? Probaly. The others? Perhaps. Perhaps Anthropic less than the others?

Have you peeked at how the (very complicated) financial markets work?

Lot's of people staring at computers moving money and ious around complicated networks within complicated rules making money making money making money.

Really progressing humanity forward :/

The title is misleading - should be "Use your openai subscription AND a TTS api key"

Much less interesting.

Tibo posted yesterday I think it was that this will happen (by the end of the year, was it?)

Prepare to lose essentially unlimited chat mode.

I imagine many will move to claude, as I will (return), unless anthropic makes more blunders.

Random link I found looking for the twitter post

Please check Gemini's t and c, as the last time I checked when they had a good pro model (3.1) you couldn't turn off training on your data with a paid account .

Probably one of the factors. Signed up to openai pro a few days ago, deciding between openai and anthropic, then sonnet 5.5 was released and am wondering whether I made a mistake.

Luckily it's not a mistake as now we have access to . . . dots.

(and sol 6.1, it seems)

Rumours have it that the migratory flutterings of end users from Anthropic to OpenAI (sometimes taking a wrong turn and entering Grok purgatory), then back to Anthropic a season (2 weeks) later, so on, moves the great Cords of The Sky that crank the sun and moon into place, which turns the great wheel of the seasons.

If you listen closely, you may hear them squawking in annoyance after each announcement.

The Samsara of AI subscriptions.
