Exactly
sermah··on Self-Hosting on the Dark Web
> so that no single party can link who you are to what you are doing

some single parties called government agencies pretty much can. it’s just much harder to do, so you’re safe from random people

sermah··on PostmarketOS is rebranding as Nura
Have you seen the new show? It's on Tubu. It's literally on Heebee. It's on Poodee with ads. It's literally on Dippy. You can probably find it on Weeno. Dude it's on Gumpy. It's a Pheebo original. It's on Poob. You can watch it on Poob. You can go to Poob and watch it. Log onto Poob right now. Go to Poob. Dive into Poob. You can Poob it. It's on Poob. Poob has it for you. Poob has it for you.
sermah··on Go grandmaster Shin defeats AI KataGo with a two-stone handicap
No. It’s not my first language too, but your version sounds odd. Usually you put an action first and only then the details

sermah··on Australia's social media ban has failed
Except ones who were already addicted make social connections with those who aren’t (yet).

You are right in the sense that less and less people smoke. You just can’t exclude that we are people and do stupid things to look cooler or something

sermah··on Australia's social media ban has failed
This. I should’ve clarified that
sermah··on Australia's social media ban has failed
These things you can check and penalize companies for violations.

As I said in the sibling comment, I’m talking about people’s own will. You can’t say “Ban smoking” and expect that all smokers quit.

sermah··on Australia's social media ban has failed
These ones help people to stop or avoid smoking. If you want to smoke, you still will.

As for social media, people don’t really want to stop or avoid using it

sermah··on Australia's social media ban has failed
Wow. Banning things actually doesn’t work and only makes everyone more secretive. What a surprise!
sermah··on Running Kimi K3 on a M1 Max
Had the same feeling when I first saw min/km units in some (human) running context.

UPD: I know it's not the same at all, just the reversal of units that gets me

sermah··on Minikotlin
Cool idea. I like the UI and that it compiles locally. But I don't really get what this is for. I use Kotlin Playground sometimes, but it allows me to switch Kotlin versions and compile targets, which is useful to try out new features.
sermah··on Turn your site into a place people can bump into each other
cauenapier make left/right button controls for mobile. Also fullscreen in portrait orientation doesn’t really make sense until messages move up in the sky, so that they don’t need to fit in that narrow horizontal space
sermah··on Show HN: Kage – Shadow any website to a single binary for offline viewing
Um. Whose website are you on right now?

sermah··on Dumbphone 2
I see nothing wrong here. You cannot fight several teams of customer retention (no idea how it’s called) when you are already deep in their hands. Sometimes the best way is to remove or limit their products.
sermah··on Throwing AI-generated walls of text into conversations
I actually saw nohello in some bios. About 2-3 times.

sermah··on Contracts in Nix
Fun obscene fact! This site’s domain is sraka.xyz. In russian “sraka” is transliterated as “срака” which literally means ass.
sermah··on 30 Years of ReactOS
I think it would be an elephant in a china shop. ReactOS doesn’t come from React (JS Library)
sermah··on Ask HN: ADHD – How do you manage the constant stream of thoughts and ideas?
Sorry, but this sounds straight up like “lock yourself up in echo chamber”. I don’t completely disagree that many things just don’t work, especially planners. Meds are just too easy to use, you basically buy yourself a “walking stick” and do nothing to learn walking by yourself. This is something a lazy/ADHD person would do, not a one willing to strengthen their mind.
