sidbatra··on Show HN: CoffeeTableViewController an opinionated mod of UITableViewController
I'll love to get everyone's feedback on this. It addresses a lot of problems I've faced while developing iOS apps over the last 3 years. Thanks!
sidbatra··on Show HN: Ruby queueing library built on Amazon SQS for background processing
List of features and uses from github:

Features

Built on Amazon’s reliable and scalable queue service, Connections to SQS are opened lazily negating any initial load time, Multiple queues can be used simultaneously, Doesn’t poll the database, Rails ActiveRecord objects maintain state through the queue, Built-in retry mechanism.

Uses

FIFO is extracted from the Mine (http://getmine.com) codebase. Here are some of the things we use it for:

Sending emails, Processing images, Indexing, Sharing to social networks, Cache management, Launching cron jobs, Communication between disjoint parts of a complex application (cron, web, processing servers)

sidbatra··on What happened in the early days of oDesk?
Everyone has an interesting story to tell and our world ought to celebrate normal people more than it does. Storylane is a brilliant combination of the two. Love it
sidbatra··on Startup Fellowship, No Equity - $45k/team + Office Space + Mentorship
The Lightspeed program is phenomenal.
sidbatra··on Tell HN: Catalog of JavaScript libraries and CSS resources hosted on public CDNs
This is really helpful for a lean startup. Helps pull some load away from servers and you get all the benefits of a CDN and caching.
sidbatra··on GoDaddy store your passwords in clear and may access your VPS without permission
It makes sense if they need to do maintenance but there has to be some code of conduct / guidelines for a VPS provider.

Either way, I stopped using Godaddy a while back - slicehost is amazing for developers and hackers.

sidbatra··on Yelp Hit With Class Action Lawsuit For Running An “Extortion Scheme”
Perhaps, we should wait for Yelp to give their side of the story before hanging them a-priori. Perhaps a runaway sales account exec couldn't meet his/her targets and got cheeky.
