slevin063··on Amnesty International India Halts Its Work in India Due to Government Reprisal
I agree with you on all the points except the last and in no way I am saying the there are no caste based discrimination in India. In fact caste based discrimination and the effects of it is one of the main reasons of India being "developing country" forever, I think. My point is that the current rise of nationalism is not because of the caste system, but rather in spite of it. I see many people from lower caste(including my relatives) being active in the local rightwing politics and RSS.
slevin063··on Amnesty International India Halts Its Work in India Due to Government Reprisal
Not discounting the negative effects of the nationalism, but I don't think caste system is behind the current rise of nationalism. The prime minister himself is from the lower caste.
slevin063··on UK votes to leave EU
As others mentioned in the thread, to curb nationalistic anti-EU movements from the other countries.
slevin063··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (June 2016)
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: sandra@peloton.com

sandra@peloton-tech.com seems to work fine.

slevin063··on Google Interview Experience
In my experience, they were language agnostic till it is high level. Unfortunately I use C at my work place, embedded C to be exact :)
slevin063··on Google Interview Experience
My mistake. It should be "just like most engineers I know at Google, I ...", which includes my friends, interviewers and people in Google interview process videos.
slevin063··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (May 2016)
Yeah, even I applied in July '15 and still no reply!
slevin063··on Microsoft stops Google being used for Cortana searches
Google does the same thing with Android. Although they don't use a browser, we have no way to change the search tool in "ok google" feature. If some one wants to replace Cortana with some other product and if Windows doesn't allow, that is a problem. Using bing will eventually improve Cortana and Microsoft should be able to do that.
slevin063··on Watch LetsEncrypt issue its millionth certificate live
Its vuweb.smf.telema-stg.whitecloud.jp actually!
slevin063··on Switzerland will vote on having a national wage of £1,700 a month
I was about to write this. Minor mistake, but misleading nonetheless.
slevin063··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (January 2016)
Like many others, I have applied to Google using Google careers many times with no response received. I mailed you my resume and would be glad if you can inform me in case of rejection as well. My email is vijayqwert at gmail.

Are you only considering US applicants?
slevin063··on Paradox: 1 – 1/2 and 1/3 – 1/4 and . . . = 0
>For A1 and A2 to be equal, A2 will have limits x=1 to 5.

I should have added 'For A1 and A2 to be equal' at the start. If you want them to be equal, they need to have different limits and if they have same limits, they are not equal.

slevin063··on Paradox: 1 – 1/2 and 1/3 – 1/4 and . . . = 0
A1 and A2 have different limits. It will be clear if the upper limit is changed to something other than infinity. Lets say A1 is sum of 1/x, x=1 to 10. For A1 and A2 to be equal, A2 will have limits x=1 to 5. Thus, you cannot strike of sum of (1/x) on both sides in the equation, A1=D.
slevin063··on Microsoft fined $731m by European Commission over web browser choice
that is upto the court to deicde, tomp got a point that since companies cannot be jailed, they should be fined a percentage of their revenue!
slevin063··on iPad Hack Statement Of Responsibility
whatever his intention was, data was publicly available

in one way it is no different than AT&T posting all the emails in a public webpage!

I think AT&T must be sued for poor security

slevin063··on Moore’s Law won’t kill passwords
Yubikey works well but its only valuable when more number of websites support it.

Similar project without the hardware is mozilla's persona, which is an open standard if im not wrong and it is better than signin using fb or gmail, as it wont be sharing any user data with website.

slevin063··on Moore’s Law won’t kill passwords
As far as password cracking is concerned, it has a HUGE bottleneck as discussed here, http://security.stackexchange.com/a/25392

The only threat to safety will be the human element as btilly suggested.

slevin063··on Strange Maya calendar anomaly
