Real questions:

- How much did it cost?

- It's great, and you had lots of input, yet the output is still vague and non specific? These 'tools' seem to excel at one-shot stylizations, but being more specific is hard and takes many iterations at which point it's more pleasant to hire a designer and a dev? And maybe even cheaper, I'm guessing, given there is no mention of cost.

Do you live in the Berghain? :)
slimebot80··on Plan mode is dead
so I use "opusplan" mode bc Opus is more expensive and supposedly better at thinking, and Sonnet is good and cheap for executing....

Changing models still gives us a usage hit (right?) but that is outweighed by benefits?

Plan mode is more about be rambling on while Opus detangles my thoughts.

I wish this worked for youtube ads.
slimebot80··on Anthropic's best AI model struggles to attract users as cheaper tools thrive
Used for training is one thing. Exposed to prying eyes is still unstoppable.

"aggressively optimistic timelines is also what makes it feasible to even attempt these things"

yawn, people keep making this excuse on behalf of the South African investor with poor technical expertise.

slimebot80··on xAI will be dissolved as a separate company
it helps they took many billions for a Moon effort they completely fumbled but never returned the cash
slimebot80··on Reallocating $100/Month Claude Code Spend to Zed and OpenRouter
I might be misunderstanding something.

He uses $70 for remaining credit and says that's a good thing because it rolls over

But spending $70 on an API (he says he still prefers Opus) is far less cost effective than a Max plan on Anthropic.

The article seems to be nudging us to setup OpenRouter but the premise isn't fully true. A bit of diversity is excellent, but the costs are going to (largely) prohibit it in reality?

slimebot80··on In Japan, the robot isn't coming for your job; it's filling the one nobody wants
Yeah. I'm more concerned about the welfare needed to support millions of low-skill people in high living cost areas, in the age of AI. Those people are being sold dead dreams for the benefit of a handful of billionaires.
slimebot80··on Martial arts robots at 2026 Spring Festival Gala [video]
I assume this is highly staged as a set routine?

No less impressive, but is it likely each robot autonomously learned a routine? Or just got programmed for a very exact act?

slimebot80··on I was banned from Claude for scaffolding a Claude.md file?
I often ask Claude to update Claude.md and skills..... and sometimes I'll just do that in a new window while my main window is busy and I have time.

Wonder if this is close to triggering a warning? I only ever run in the same codebase, so maybe ok?

slimebot80··on Cowork: Claude Code for the rest of your work
"Claude can’t read or edit anything you don’t give it explicit access to"

How confident are we that this is a strict measure?

I personally have zero confidence in Claude rulesets and settings as a way to fence it in. I've seen Claude decide desperately for itself what to access once it has context bloat? It can tend to ignore rules?

Unless there is a OS level restriction they are adhering to?

slimebot80··on iCloud Photos Downloader
iCloud Photos.app seems to not be able to show some photos

But Photometor.app (owned by Apple) can...

So that's a little annoying... I wish I had more visibility on photos not showing up in Photos.app, and what it is that stops it showing them

The blog post and homepage do a terrible job describing the product?

Wasn't Crypto recently revealed to be used by FBI (or similar) to track major criminals? They don't broadcast it, since they want people to continue thinking it's anonymous.

slimebot80··on Apple to focus on 'quality and underlying performance' with iOS 27 next year
Why wait? Fix things now.

I brought a Pro Max last year, after owning a perfectly fine 13 mini for years, and just my luck the latest iOS seems to make everything worse.

Face detection. Navigating photos. Unresponsive Apps. Confusing as f*ck UI.

No idea why I spent so much money on a Pro phone, should of stuck with the 13 mini and refused to upgrade the OS.

slimebot80··on A Postmark backdoor that’s downloading emails
On a very basic level, ignoring the extreme examples ... I wonder how much these tools send back home.

It seems very hard to see what they are accessing. Let alone control it. We just rely on them asking when they see fit to ask.

The minute Zuck and Google start offering you things for free, you have to wonder sometimes.

I mean, forget about denying cookie popups in your browser . We are galaxies beyond.

slimebot80··on Show HN: Macscope – I decide to built a better Cmd-Tab replacement for macOS
My main complaint with the regular app switcher is it shows all apps, when I'd happily hide most of them and just access them occasionally from the dock.

I use the free Alt-Tab app to hide most apps, works well.

It has screen recording though, bc it creates previews. So best to block it from accessing the network with LuLu, just in case.
