spoiledtechie··on Outlook/Hotmail is no longer blocking my mail server
Exactly.

It destroys competition.

spoiledtechie··on Outlook/Hotmail is no longer blocking my mail server
GMail is the worst for email blocking resolutions. They don't have an effective feedback loop built into their system. So when a user does block you, no one is told about it, to be fixed. Therefore lowering your reputation with them over time.

How can we as ESPs respond to them appropriately with removal of these people who don't want our emails anymore, if we don't know who the user is?

If there are any GMAIL service team members here, I would LOVE to know why a feedback loop was never implemented like the other providers.

spoiledtechie··on What happens to all the dead electric-car batteries?
Exactly what I was going to say.
spoiledtechie··on Ask HN: Have any of you moved back home to save money?
That country probably gave you the opportunity you have now. You might not think its worth 2 years, but the country does and everyone else in that country also did.

You should really think about going back and serving a country which gave you opportunities.

spoiledtechie··on CNN reporter arrested live on air while covering Minneapolis protests [video]
I wouldn't call it unreasonable. They were told to clear the streets. They didn't actually clear the street. They stayed on the street. Reporters not following directions.

Police abuse their power when leaders pick sides? And what about the Mayor? Has he not chosen sides? He lambasted the riots, but has allowed it to continue. Actions and words.

While the first half kind of threw me, your second half lined up with what I see. Im quite surprised you believe and state it more than once that NPR is right of center. Just recently their CEO wrote a book about how LEFT leaning they were and how bad he was. He realized that he needed to venture out and how bad NPR was.
spoiledtechie··on 30 Years of iRobot
Yes. I own a current generation roomba and they pick up immense amount of dust from my house every 2 days. It works.

Keep in mind, that now Bloomberg is in the Democratic race, They will be making hit pieces against Bloomberg's opponents.
spoiledtechie··on Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram Restricted in Southern Turkey
Its a CIVIL war that has been raging for the last 200 years. It won't stop anytime soon until there is diplomacy. Real diplomacy and HARD diplomacy is needed here. It can't be stopped unless people sit down and talk things out.
spoiledtechie··on I hate living in my tiny house
Its actually a regulation problem. City councils, local govts create this problem with restrictions on buildings and what type of things can go into their city. These people should rise up and realize their living in something created by govt.
spoiledtechie··on California bans private prisons
I'm not sure what you're getting at. The term illegal is expressed in Oxford and Merriam Webster.

Its also expressed and used quite a lot in legal documents and written law.

Neither mean to use it as a racist term.

spoiledtechie··on California bans private prisons
I would recommend you do some research on this topic. Your giving talking points produced by mainstream talking heads.

When in fact, research points to private prisons being better at dropping incarceration rates through the programs offered at them. Therefore increasing ones chance at correct rehabilitation.

spoiledtechie··on “I'm 10-15”: the secret CBP Facebook group
It's curious to see a facebook group that has +9k members, they were only able to grab 2 screenshots from all the news that it's a racist group. Only 2 screenshots certainly can't cast a shadow over the entire group.

I would like to wait a few more days before I see more from this group. I have doubts that it was that bad.

spoiledtechie··on The World Blows over $5T a Year on Oil and Gas Subsidies: Report

spoiledtechie··on Where does your plastic waste end up?
Makes me rethink my use of plastics....
spoiledtechie··on Google Is Eating Our Mail
"It's because email is open. If we lose an open, healthy ecosystem with many providers"

Don't you see? This post on HN means you have created the CLOSED unhealthy ecosystem. You built what you just spoke against when you shut out email from small providers. Shame on you for speaking idealically and not confronting the reality of the situation.

spoiledtechie··on Online pornography age checks for UK web users [video]
Its going socialist. The entire European Union is. Whether you include the UK or not. Less Privacy, more public knowledge. Next thing you know they will start studies based on these people that watch porn.
spoiledtechie··on Ask HN: As a freelancer, what's the best app to track finances?
Dave Ramsey, - Every Dollar App.

Dave Ramsey is probably the biggest expert in helping people get out of debt and stay out of debt. While its a 8 step program, he requires you to sit down and budget.

Just one more accolade. He is known in circles as the best program to get people out of debt and fast.

Along with his program he offers an App called Every Dollar.

Its a must have if you know anything about budgeting personally.

I would love to see some cool data we might be able to use.

spoiledtechie··on EPA is allowing asbestos back into manufacturing

spoiledtechie··on Sending and Receiving SMS on Linux (2015)
You don't need any of this stuff. It might be technically cool to do SMS now, but there is an android app for SMS Gateways. Just have an extra phone that sits around and sends SMS all day long. Much cheaper than Twilio if your sending large amounts of text messages.
spoiledtechie··on Google Engineers Refused to Build Security Tool to Win Military Contracts

spoiledtechie··on Supreme Court Rules Police Need Warrant to Track Your Cellphone

spoiledtechie··on Ajit Pai says you’re going to love the death of net neutrality
Cite your claim. He strengthened it. Obama admin didn't actually implement any consumer protection.
spoiledtechie··on Ajit Pai says you’re going to love the death of net neutrality
Can I be the antagonist here?

I simply want a free market for the internet. Stop with government intervention on both sides. Simply protect the consumer and let the free market take over.

Who cares if companies like netflix get charged more? It will allow another competitor to bubble up since Netflix will start adjusting their prices. This works. Its called capitalism.

In theory, simply look at Lasik. Lasik 5 years ago, used to be 5k an eye. Now I can get it from a Pandora commercial for just $200.00. Thats capitalism. It drove prices down. I expect the same thing to happen with this. Competition will drive prices down quickly. It also allows the providers like Cox or Verizon to invest in their infrastructure. EVERYONE knows we are way behind Japan and other countries with our infrastructure.

Let people decide with their dollars, rather than the government deciding.

spoiledtechie··on ZTE of China to Pay $1B Fine in Deal to End U.S. Sanctions
I don't understand why you bring in the military budget.

I could do the same with welfare, as it greatly outnumbers military spending even though its no where in our constitution or bill of rights to offer such.

Remove your personal issue and think about this rationally please.
