steinvakt2··on New iMac with M6
Cool, I suppose it doesn’t work with windows? To use a 5k iMac as monitor to my windows desktop?
steinvakt2··on New iPad mini
Media viewer wherever you want it. Planes, trains, treadmill, whatever. I don’t have one but it’s an obvious (nice to have, not needed) use case?
steinvakt2··on SlopCodeBench 10/2026 – Opus 5.5, Astra wins overall, xhigh considered harmful
Same here. I’m feeling productive enough. If I was more “productive”, I wouldn’t be able to keep up with what I was producing. My attention and cognitive broadband is the bottleneck. I find it hard to believe that people are actually productive using 4 active chat windows simultaneously for 8+ hours a day.
steinvakt2··on Citroen revives the 2CV for an electric age
As you can see below, I instantly agreed I might have responded wrong/misinterpreted. So no it’s not called hitting the nerves
steinvakt2··on Citroen revives the 2CV for an electric age
I guess maybe so

The base model was 64gb for years, not 32

Categorising people who think Elon Musk is fascist-adjacent as mentally sick should be below the quality standards of a comment on HN. Also, even if he either is or is not that, labelling anti-support of said person/movement/business as "virtue signalling" is also lazy and assuming bad faith. It's legitimate "activism" to not support a business if they engage in morally dubious activity (I'm not advocating that Tesla or Elon Musk are or are not engaging in that, but either way, it's not just virtue signalling).
steinvakt2··on Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 to Navanethem Pillay
Even if they had twice as many tunnels it would never justify what Israel has done. Read the numbers, look at the pictures. Read about how many children that have been shot in the head.
steinvakt2··on Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 to Navanethem Pillay
Are you aware of the amount of CHILDREN that have been killed? They had no relation to any terrorist attack. And the fact that I even have to say anything more than the first sentence, shows how insanely far the Overton window is on Israel's side.

Look at any recent pictures. Gaza was basically nuked

Yes, I wrote that I prefer Europe
steinvakt2··on Mistral Large 4
I'm biased (I'm European), but I'd much rather be middle class in Europe than in USA.

What are you talking about lol
steinvakt2··on Launch HN: Magnitude (YC S25) – Self-optimizing inference engine for agents
Any way to use this for speech-to-text? To gain faster whisper inference for instance, without losing accuracy?

steinvakt2··on Let's make quality the norm again
An Audi typically requires more maintenance and repair than a Toyota though. You’re not paying for quality (as in durability/longevity)

Greenlight social. It's basically an app for saying "I'm ready" or "Let's do x...".

Background is that my friend group plays video games, grabs beer or whatever - and a lot of the communication revolves around logistics. This app lowered the threshold for initiating. We create a group per activity, and "going green" means you're ready. The other group members get a push notification "Paul is greenlit!" and the title of the group is "Play Dota 2" or "Beer at local pub". Super simple concept, but it actually works.

TLDR; I made an app that let's you press a button instead of writing the typical "Does anyone want to join x activity?"

Cool. Surprisingly difficult. I made an art game inspired by wordle some years ago. My dad and I still play it daily. https://artle.eu

It works offline and the files are stored locally on your own computer. I agree with your sentiment and that's actually why we built it like this. Browser gives multiple device support, faster incremental updates, bug fix etc. And it gives an easy way to share/cooperate/review with other people

To be fair, the 5060 with 16GB is not that much more expensive than the 5060 8GB.
steinvakt2··on EU Parliament greenlights Chat Control 1.0
USA allows overreach from both government and corporations. But pretends to hate a strong government. EU allows overreach from government, but limits corporations. And pretends for it to be about rights, but in practice it's about keeping the overreach to themselves (the government).
