stemc43··on Google flags Immich sites as dangerous
какие же они все таки гандоны
stemc43··on We are moving to General Availability
supabase, directus and similar are just wrappers on top op postgres. I just spin up local postgres instance for personal project and see no reason to get vendor locked-in myself.
stemc43··on Neon Serverless Postgres is generally available

stemc43··on Freenginx: Core Nginx developer announces fork
i know the difference i just don't care enough. same thing applies - u would gave to register business and trademark in Russia and pay taxes to have any legs
stemc43··on Freenginx: Core Nginx developer announces fork
> not sure how much leg he has to stand on for using the word nginx itself in the new product’s name and domain

pretty sure they can't really do anything to him in Russia. Russia and US don't recognize each others patents, same as China.

stemc43··on OwnCloud Infinite Scale added EULA that prohibits commercial use [pdf]
well, the issue is modern nextcloud vs owncloud is not what it was 5 years aog. nextcloud is still a buggy php app (without swoole) and owncloud is a completely rewritten in golang.
stemc43··on PHP in 2023
These days - I use swoole/openswoole with any PHP project. it brings connection pooling, async, concurrency, event loop, io parallelization and much much more.
stemc43··on When did POP and IMAP become a “legacy protocol?”
> google passwords at my work - they are disabled in our enterprise account - no alternative to oauth. I think they may even be disabled by default in general in gmail.
stemc43··on Vanced Discontinuation
that would be amazing. i really hope to not have to use firefox mobile with ublock.

stemc43··on Russia Cannot Win The War
you can probably open in web-telegram and have google translate do its work. there are a lot of unique information you wont find anywhere else. lots of fake news debunked as well.
stemc43··on Qualcomm to give all its 3nm AP foundry work to TSMC instead of Samsung
lack of competition is depressing
stemc43··on PHP in 2022
if you are working on PHP projects - dont forget to look into swoole/openswoole. all major PHP frameworks are adopting it now.

this way you can do async and build websocket servers and such and build http applications with event loop and without apache/nginx and such. etc etc

stemc43··on PHP in 2022
use swoole/openswoole with php - async away.
stemc43··on PHP in 2022
id this why js devs rewrite everything in typescript now?
stemc43··on Piracy release group EVO ‘blames’ movie industry for its popularity
such ideas are dead on arrival in US. you gotta have a revolution first before being able to override money interests like this.
stemc43··on TSMC “Apple-first” 3nm policy leads to AMD and Qualcomm mutiny
this is so depressing (for those not mac fanboys). while amd is pushed out me as a consumer is gonna end up suffering.
stemc43··on PHP is worth learning and using
You need to try swoole/ openswoole - it brings golang style concurrency to php. you dont need to use nginx/apache and it beats node in performance tests.

stemc43··on Anti-Patterns to Avoid in Lambda Based Apps
Why use serverless to begin with? Vendor lock in, at least 5x more expensive, no good development env - what is the appeal?
stemc43··on Chan Zuckerberg Initiative sunsetting science research platform meta.org
thanks - I put 0 efforts into almost all my post
stemc43··on Ad Astra: The coming battle over space
> and aren't restrained by any code of ethics

give ... me ... a break. are you seriously implying US (aka blue team) are good guys and have some higher standards?

stemc43··on Chan Zuckerberg Initiative sunsetting science research platform meta.org
So everyonene OK with saying sunsetting instead of shutting down now?. Even though its clearly a corporate-speak?. Are we gonna be so easily manipulated?
stemc43··on Compute vs. Hardware

stemc43··on Rendering on the Apple M1 Max Chip
Apple managed to book entire TSMC 5nm production or close to all last year - that's the main reason for this performance. and by managed - its passed on consumer ofc.

ill just wait for amd 5nm offering that will also be in ram/cpu upgreadeable form factors and Linux compatible out of the box for half the price.

stemc43··on My rant about React
> You don't even need a damn framework.

stemc43··on Kerberos: Open-Source Video Surveillance
ive also spent entirely way too much time trying to get shinobi and zoneminder to work and had to give up.
