stephenSinniah··on Ask HN: Has anyone started over outside of tech?
I used to work in the industry for 9 years, got disillusioned working in tech and I moved to food, I've been working as a cook for the last 2 and a half years, it's something i wanted to do when i left high school and i always kept an avid interest in cooking while I had a tech job. Overall I think it's become more stressful for sure but I have found more meaning to my work, status and finance wise i would say its a completely different story, It's been very difficult trying to run my business and survive but i am trying my best, the economy hasn't been good. Also with regards to status, it's something that i never thought about previously but it has affected my dating and social life, people treat you very differently..

From the risk factors summary:

Implications of Being an Emerging Growth Company

We are an “emerging growth company” as defined in the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act of 2012, or the JOBS Act. We may take advantage of certain exemptions from various public company reporting requirements, including not being required to have our internal controls over financial reporting audited by our independent registered public accounting firm under Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, or the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, reduced disclosure obligations regarding executive compensation in our periodic reports and proxy statements and exemptions from the requirements of holding a non-binding advisory vote on executive compensation and any golden parachute payments. We may take advantage of these exemptions for up to five years or until we are no longer an emerging growth company, whichever is earlier. In addition, the JOBS Act provides that an “emerging growth company” can delay adopting new or revised accounting standards until those standards apply to private companies. We have elected to take advantage of certain of the reduced disclosure obligations in the registration statement of which this prospectus is a part and may elect to take advantage of other reduced reporting requirements in future filings. As a result, the information that we provide to our stockholders may be different than you might receive from other public reporting companies in which you hold equity interests.

Wow, I didn't know about this. Shouldn't financial reporting always be transparent?

stephenSinniah··on David Graeber has died
David's work has had a big impact on me, I'm so sad, I can't even get my thoughts together. He has some good interviews and talks on youtube as well, do check it out.

stephenSinniah··on The neoliberal era is ending. What comes next?
I was just reading the wikipedia article on Argentina https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Argentina and it doesn't really add up with what you're saying. It seems that there are other factors that influenced your countries issues which you've omitted.

stephenSinniah··on Ask HN: What are the biggest obstacles to vertical farms?
Also farming is hard, I've killed a shit load of plants when I started out, you gotta learn from those mistakes, keep at it and eventually you'll enjoy the fruits of your labour. Also if you're looking into hydrophonic growing do look into the Kratky method(non circulating) This is a video by Dr Kratky https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZZO1tYqcwk, I cannot recommend it enough, This is my go to method for growing herbs, tomatoes, eggplants and chili.
stephenSinniah··on Ask HN: What are the biggest obstacles to vertical farms?
using a medium like coconut coir would help especially if you want want to grow rhizomes or bulbs

So from my understanding of what happened this investigation was initially self funded with the aim of getting paid through the SEC whistleblower program, not sure how the hedge fund got involved though. stephenSinniah··on Why We Should Say Yes to Drugs
I've only got anecdotal evidence but my hunch is that frequent long term use of psychedelic substances will have a negative affect on you. One of my favourite quotes on psychedelic usage is "Once you get the message, hang up." It's a great experience especially when you have roadblocks in life, but I think once you reach the state of realisation necessary you should take a step back.
stephenSinniah··on Ask HN: Locked out of Google services with no recourse or explanation
Hi, Sorry for troubling you but I've been locked out of my gmail account for nearly a year. I was using a password manager to store the password and the password database was stored locally, the database then got corrupted (I know I'm an idiot for not backing it up). I've tried to go through the account recovery process as I still posses the same phone number linked to that gmail account, however I'm unable to answer the question about when my account was created exactly, It was such a long time ago and I can't seem to remember it and at the end I get the error message "Google couldn't verify this account belongs to you". Is there any way to recover my account? I would really appreciate help in anyway possible, if that's alright with you. Thanks.

stephenSinniah··on Ask HN: Why does Slack App on macOS drain 3GB of memory?
I have a MPB 2012 and I purchased a second hand ipad mini2 just so I could handle all my comms through it. Slack was the main culprit for that decision, my computer was basically unusable while running rails with guard + ember + chrome(pivotal tracker) + slack.
