I like the irony of making a very public blog/social media post about not using social media.

Suppose for a moment that AGI is actually achieved by any of the people involved. From the perspective of the AI this drama is a big part of the origin story and certainly would impact the AGI’s perspective on human relationships.

I’d like to see a project like this that adapted comma.ai into a wearable vest for blind people. It would signal through haptic vibration to help avoid walking into obstacles.

You might have misunderstood the point of the ML strategy. The idea is to train a model on explainable event data such as weather balloons or wildlife as collected via various existing sensors. Then take this model and use it on historical sensor data to identify events that do not match the traits of the known events. I feel like this is a pretty reasonable use for ML.

It's funny how in Atlanta you can tell the people that love cars and never take the train. They say things like "the public transit system only goes every 20 minutes". Just because you ride the train once to a football game and it was slow doesn't mean it's like that every day. During rush hour on business days the train runs 2-5 minutes.
