superted··on User Interfaces of the Demo Scene
I vividly remember FastTracker II, and how intuitive and tactile it felt to get things done in it, despite the minimal user interface real estate. As an example, there were no sound effects. So, I routinely manually created echo effects by copying the sounds from one channel to another one of the available channels, offsetting the notes by a few ticks and lowering the volume. It was simpler times.
superted··on The Future According to LLMs
Great idea, what I went with for the first version is admittedly too crude. I'll have a look.
superted··on The Future According to LLMs
I have always found https://www.futuretimeline.net/ to be very, very, interesting in the gradual tangent to sci-fi. In the same vein, I wanted to understand how different LLMs think about the future, and where they potentially agree.
superted··on FileZilla now contains adware if you download from the official homepage
Any idea what kind of revenue this potentially brings in, assuming this is the rationale begins this decision? In contrast to tarnishing the Filezilla name (albeit this could mostly be controversial in the hn crowd)
superted··on Ask HN: Do you create music? let's hear it
Fun initiative! http://youtube.com/tedbjorling
superted··on Hyundai buys Boston Dynamics for nearly $1B
This alongside the recent Apple car rumours makes Huyndai quite forward-leaning.
superted··on Kofola, the Cold War Drink of Czechoslovakia
In Sweden we have a similar drink called "julmust" or "påskmust" which many people go for, over international beverages, during Christmas and Easter: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julmust
superted··on The Berklee College of Music Sampling Archive
Awesome! Do you think the script supports windows as well?
superted··on Spotify Form F-1
If you do not mind me asking, as a fellow artist, how have you reached the point of getting this regular influx of listeners on Spotify? Through external promotion or is this solely driven by the Spotify platform and its algorithms?
superted··on Ask HN: What did you work on in 2017?
After a 10-years-or-so hiatus I finally got back at composing music, and completed 29 songs and 4 albums, this fall only: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4nxDh1lPq0EclBPMNXnYa3 and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgNm_EwMyLBrKp_kmdU3XoA. Doing this in parallel to going through a divorce with three kids has been quite a ride.
superted··on [dead]
I have the very same issue, but always assumed it was my Toyota to blame. I actually ended up deleting "that" song having been through its first 10 seconds or so while desperately trying to switch over to spotify countless of times. This hack is indeed a weirdly delightful solution
superted··on Ask HN: What language/framework do you plan to use in your next project?
Firebase, to dip my toes into the liberating world of servless development. So far, things have been quite pleasant!
superted··on Ask HN: What API do you wish you had while building your product?
We are using the geo lookup api fram maxmind, with success. Gets quite expensive though, if you are not careful
superted··on California’s wildflower bloom can be seen on satellite imagery
Awesome photos. I'll be visiting the US and be driving from SF to Las Vegas this weekend. Would you recommend making the detour to Carrizo to see the bloom, or am I too late to the party?
superted··on FIFA 2014 World Cup live stream architecture
Working in the TV industry myself, the uninevitable question on DRM springs to mind. Was these streams encrypted as well somewhere along the described process?
superted··on ITunes 11 and Colors
Good job "emulating" the iTunes algorithm. Request to op: It would have been good to have some sample code inline in the article that illustrated the algorithm. I know there's an Xcode project attached, but reading this on an iPad has its limitations.
superted··on Show HN: My new playlist app
Actually, you can use libspotify to extract the contents of playlists, which allows for a richer experience on a playlist site like this.
superted··on Swiftype (YC W12) Builds Site Search That Doesn’t Suck
Looks great, but a small suggestion is to actually implement site search on their own site, if not only for demoing purposes. I would guess that many would love to take it for a test drive right there. Apart from that, excellent job.
superted··on How Twitter’s secret offer for Instagram made Facebook pay $1B
Spotify comes to mind. Not a website though.
superted··on JavaScript on the server: Growing the Node.js Community
The classical application that comes to mind is a chat app.
superted··on PDFKit - A PDF generation library for Node.js.
I can vouch for the quality of PDFKit, it is highly pleasant to work with
superted··on Poll: HN readers, where's your residence?
Aye!
superted··on Gaming in HTML5: the future is now
Excellent stuff, my kids simply loved this game! Looking forward to the blog post.
superted··on Why Can't We Drink Sea Water?
I drank something between 4-6 liters of water in a couple of hours time last summer, and ended up with fever and throwing up excessively for the remainder of the day. I was more or less knocked-out for the next couple of days. So I can definitely tell you that drinking too much fresh water in a short time frame is anything but healthy...
superted··on Wordfeud creator makes $10k a day from app
Note: This article has been translated from Swedish. It says 75000 dollars in the translated version, but the source clearly says it is 75000 Swedish krona, i.e. roughly $10k
superted··on How much traffic being on a Google doodle gives
I am curious, how do you get access to Wikipedia statistics?
superted··on Pandora for Music Videos
Looking good! And it was made in 24h? Excellent work guys! On a similar note, check out http://www.tubufy.com. Basically a Spotify/Last.FM/MOG playlist -> video channel tool that I released into the wild this summer.
superted··on CoffeeScript: JavaScript without the Fail (slides)
Had the same problem until I found out that page up/down seemed to work better
superted··on Show HN: Krrnt.com - A live playlist discovery service powered by node.js
Hi, I just released http://www.krrnt.com into the wild. It is very much in beta, so please be gentle. For instance, IE8 does not work that well ATM.

The idea is to provide a granular live feed of playlists shared on Twitter. Initially, Spotify playlists are supported. Playlist URI:s are examined and indexed, making each and every playlist searchable. Technically, node.js and socket.io is working together to provide the dynamics of the UI and the live feed.

Any comments are highly appreciated!

superted··on Show HN: BidOnMyDay, bid to have me fly to you and do anything
I concurr, this is a fantastic idea. A book and/or blog series on your adventures would definitely count me as an avid reader!
