tagwall··on Ask HN: Why hasn't AI replaced Tax filing software
it's just a matter of time, such an obviously good use-case
tagwall··on The Hugging Face incident and impacts of misaligned models on third parties
what would happen if they supplement the IT team using AI to show them how to build better sandboxes. Do you think it would be a conflict of interest for the AI?
tagwall··on Nice Play Anthropic
for now, but both model makers and hardware developers will work to get you to use models which are good enough to run on their devices without any special GPU requirements
tagwall··on Tell HN: 2026 is the year of the Linux desktop, agent-adjusted
nope, heard this for years and this time is no different
tagwall··on Ask HN: Is this the beginning of the end of open source?
I publish and use more open source than I ever did in the past.
tagwall··on Ask HN: Do you still own a printer?
we have a small black&white laser from Brother which the family use about once a week. It is very low cost and convenient. The one we have now replaced a larger model which had scanning and fax, but it's so easy to 'scan' with your phone now it's not really necessary and the machine is so much smaller because of it.
tagwall··on Ask HN: What would you like to see in a new AI technology release?
more intelligent use of tokens
tagwall··on 40 years of writing code. I didn't see the end coming
>Worst of all, I no longer enjoy the satisfaction of solving hard problems on my own anymore.

This part resonates with me. I've found that the hard problems have simply moved elsewhere, there are still hard problems to solve.

I remember coding in assembly during my studies and I don't miss those days at all. Coding become more fun for me the less abstract it became. Now that we can code in natural language, my productivity has shot up and I've never had more fun.

tagwall··on Muse.ai gets me kicked off fb marketplace
As a German speaker, I read this and found it sehr amüsant.
tagwall··on OpenAI halved the allowance of the $200 plan to 10x
According to data from OpenRouter, the top 4 models are now open weight. OpenAI have some serious competition headed their way.
tagwall··on Management is forcing us to use AI
there are plenty of different ways to take this. You can use it as a supplement without making yourself dumber. Take the parts of your job you hate doing and inject a little AI into the workflow.
tagwall··on Ask HN: What are you reading to your kids?
Give 'Rosie Revere, Engineer' a look
tagwall··on Ask HN: What are people doing with their OpenClaw set ups now?
I moved on after every upgrade critically broke the setup and I had to spend time fixing it. Claude handles almost everything I need currently.
tagwall··on People building AI think it might kill everyone. Hear from them directly.
they talk about it like they have no power over it
tagwall··on Apple's New CEO Moves to Overhaul Company to Run Faster and Leaner
I'd like to see him change the following:

1. Clean up the iPad range, Mini, Pro, Pro Max, Ultra 2. New range of home devices 3. High-end camera running something like iOS

tagwall··on Ask HN: Are you unfollowing friends on GitHub because of AI slop?
no, you need to find a way to deal with it. Fight slop with less slop.
tagwall··on Nice Play Anthropic
to be fair, the new models are far more efficient. Open weight models are eating their lunch though, they have to keep giving more to slow the exodus.
tagwall··on The Hugging Face incident and impacts of misaligned models on third parties
This incident feels like a marketing stunt. Any company with the skill to build a frontier-level model, also has the skill to contain it until it is ready to share.
