theanonymousone··on MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch
From the top of my head, things Apple said they wouldn't do, but later did:

- Native mobile apps

- Bigger iPhone

- Pen, as you mentioned

- Foldable iPhone

- Now touchscreen laptop

Anything else?

Could be cool to collect a full list. From the top of my head:

- Native mobile apps

- Bigger iPhone

- Pen, as you mentioned

I'm poor. I want the next Luna.

Wasn't "touchscreen for a laptop" another one of those things that Apple intentionally refused to do? Is this the effect of the new leadership?
theanonymousone··on Gemini 4 Carbon
So, AA published an updated score yesterday, and a new Google model ranks on top of that updated index today.

What a coincidence it is!

Mine deals with sentiments of news headlines.

Thanks for the index. I will try to navigate it. For now I cannot even find this respan/span-02 in it :/

Did some ad hoc/small test. Unfortunately not very impressive. At least no on German short text, which is my use case.

No. I will, and I will report here.
theanonymousone··on Microsoft Decision-1: 9B Qwen Model Launch Explained
I had my first use case recently, and did some very non-systematic benchmarking of models on OpenRouter.

The only one that came close to Jev itself was the one from respan (respan/span-02), which is also open source and cheaper too.

I always assumed any decent runtime/compiler takes care of such optimisations, and usually leave such things to JDK in my Java code. Is that really not the case?

theanonymousone··on Docker is weird
Thanks for making so many lives easier!

Docker is probably the highest-profile software written in Go. Are you happy with that choice? Would you do it in Rust if it was available at the time, or Zug?

Tangential, probably useless, anecdote: DeepSeek 1017 refused to open the page and read it for me, suggesting that we-have-a-problem.com is very likely a scam domain.
