thecommentator··on Dev-to-dev interviews for senior level positions at high profile organizations
If you're asked a question that you can provide multiple answers for (ie. "How would you approach ...") after providing multiple options, try asking the interviewer his take on the problem. People love talking about themselves and their own opinions. The interviewer will end up liking you more without knowing why.
thecommentator··on Dploy.io - Ship code from GitHub, Bitbucket or SVN/Git repo
How do you count these? If I have SiteA deploys to /var/www/sitea @ 102.22.22.22 and SiteB which deploys to /var/www/siteb @ 102.22.22.22 is that one deployment server, or two?
thecommentator··on Show HN: I launched a project management app for Freelancers (like Basecamp)
I saw this yesterday; while I can't comment on its usability in general, I can say that because it's built on a homegrown framework, I'm not sure how much I'd trust it. And I certainly wouldn't want to have to work on it if I wanted/needed customizations.

The advantage of a product like this over basecamp is not so much its one time fee, but the fact I can do whatever I'd like with it. The advantage of basecamp is it just works, and for a nominal amount of money yearly I don't ever have to worry about it.

thecommentator··on Ask HN: Created Scraping SaaS, best way to avoid misuse?
I'd be interested in using this type of service; I've tried a few but they were mostly too complicated to use, failed to work as advertised, or cost more money then hiring someone off vWorker to write a specific one-time solution.
thecommentator··on Guardthis.info: a better way to share passwords with your team
This site in encouraging you to share passwords with people over ... a non-encrypted connection. This makes it about as safe as email. That's before you get to the bit where you have to share the information with a 3rd party that looks sketchy at best.
thecommentator··on Ask HN: Is Ruby on Rails still hot?
If you are choosing a technology stack based on "Whats Hot" rather then "What provides the best solution for my team and my problem" then it doesn't matter what you choose, as it will probably be wrong.

Is your team heavy with javascript developers? Do you have a need for an event-driven framework that can handle large load? Great, here comes node.

Is speed of development and a wealth of 3rd party libraries for almost any need critical to your ability to get started? Well, RoR has you covered.

Every language has strengths and weaknesses. Picking a tech stack is a decision that should be based on your needs.

thecommentator··on Review my startup: Pepnest-plain text alternative to Mailchimp, Aweber etc
Your product already exists in the form of http://tinyletter.com/ - owned by mailchimp.
thecommentator··on Tell All: Forget 'SVBTLE' and 'Medium'. Here is a nice tumblr alternative.
If you think those are alternatives then you have missed the point of Svbtle and Medium; those services have nothing to do with the way the blogs look.

Medium is about networks of related information and discovery. Svbtle is(was?) curated bloggers and never open to just everyone. Yes, they happen to look nice as well.

thecommentator··on Ask HN: I'm in a difficult situation, and I would like to work for you
Can you legally work in the US already, or would you need help if a company in the US wanted to employ you?
thecommentator··on I Got Fired For Tweeting
This guy isn't just a little in the wrong he's a lot in the wrong.

For a moment, lets assume its okay to insult a customer in the wrong on behalf of your employer. If that was the case this guy would still be wrong -- because a tip is an optional thing.
