They even threw in a tirade about Trump to top it off.
But yeah, let's throw away an entire country's election because of the ramblings of Victor Ilie.
Thank God he put it all together and saved Romania. No investigation needed, he figured it out.
The voters were apparently too stupid and got tricked by scary russian ads, so we must re-do the elections until they come to their senses and pick the correct candidate.
It's TikTok's fault for letting Russian ads in, so we'll take some of their money and we'll also stay in power. Win-win for the establishment.
It couldn't possibly be that the voters knew exactly what they were voting for... They're too gullible, that's it.
First, yes they will be re-ran, and it's doubtful the winning candidate will even get to run. Also, where does it end, do we keep re-running it until we get the right candidate? What if it was the candidate you voted for, how would you feel?
Second, yes apparently you can, it happened. If the whole country was able to be swayed by TikTok ads but apparently no politicians noticed then they aren't very good at politicking or governing. If they noticed an issue they should have dealt with TikTok earlier.
So far TikTok hasn't been held liable, only the voters who choose to vote for this candidate.
An analogy would be buying github stars or reddit upvotes for an adversary to get them banned.
Many celebrities do the same as well via their social media presence.
1. Buy ads for opposition.
2. Opposition reports invalid figures not accounting for russian ads
3. People accuse opposition of being helped by russia and misreporting funds.
4. Opposition wins, recount stays the same, courts annul it because russia.
Am I missing something here?
The point is not to get rid of all mosquitos, just the disease-carrying ones.
Heart transplants are from consenting donors that have recently diseased, not living victims murdered solely for their organs. Blood sacrifices do not involve taking the heart and saving a live either. So no intent is not the variance there.
For mosquitoes, nature doesn't require consent, but humans are put on another standard.
Or do you think that because nature does something, humans are free to do it to themselves, like murder?
A wild bear will kill you, so therefore a human can kill another human right?
When you were 7, did you yearn for modified parasites?
Thailand has also done it with great success.
The countries they live in are malaria free because they eradicated the disease-carrying mosquitos and developed their healthcare system.
Developing the healthcare system of a country helps with more diseases and keeps consent. It also doesn't open you up for a potential biological weapon if some entity decided to misuse it (Russia, CIA, etc.)
And yes, many places have eradicated mosquitos with no shift in the ecosystem.
It's pretty much the one creature that all animals would love to have eradicated or at the very least mitigated.
Just because nature does something, doesn't mean it's okay to allow humans to do it.
The US has also had great success in their eradication and mitigation programs.
You can modify them to not reproduce if you're modifying them already for this instance.
If it's a matter of "won't" then we should ask "why not", instead of allowing someone to do this.
Right now you can consent to get a malaria vaccine, no covert parasite needed.
If the counter that it is for poorer populations, I'd still say you may want to ask them if they want to be injected with a genetically modified parasite. If one single person doesn't want to be in the area, you shouldn't do it. Would you support them dropping these in your neighborhood?
I just don't see how injecting people with genetically modified parasites without their consent is "great".
What could go wrong with nonconsensual, covert, forced mass injections.
Today it's used for malaria, tomorrow?
When releasing these mosquitos, will they be getting consent of everyone in the area?
High energy prices cause high transportation and manufacturing costs which causes everything else to rise.
But the main cause of inflation is printing of money, especially when you introduce such a large amount in such a short time.
People used to know that, they either pretend it's not true now or they're ignorant.
And yes the "bad faith" parrot line is really annoying and doesn't contribute to the conversation. It's what people say when they don't have a rebuttal.
I noticed that the WASD placement excluded the middle finger. Once you lift it up and keep it hovering, the pinky hitting A, the ring hitting W and S and the index hitting D, it's very easy to dance them.
I find the middle finger much less responsive than other fingers due to tendon connections (it is much stronger though as another user noted for bowling)
I am left handed but I do use the PC like a "normal" person. She is right handed and she played noticeably better once doing this.
The other major thing was to avoid cross talk between hands. Full aiming related things on the right, full movement related things on the left. (grenades, aimed abilities, etc. on mouse keys)
Related note: in paintball, you feather the trigger with the index and middle finger as they are the fastest. The pinky is also fast but the ring is so slow that doesn't work. Middle and ring is slow for the same reason.
TLDR: ring is your muscle finger, other fingers are more agile.
and I thought of the sunny episode when I read your comment.
"just in case is as good a reason as any to believe in something", whether it's monkey paws, throwing salt over your shoulder, knocking on wood, etc.
open source stealth plugins don't really work now either.
you have to use real browser fingerprints.
Easy to split the atom, not so easy to vote (correctly) apparently.
I guess we'll keep shipping it around and storing it onsite, even though a massive facility is already built to house all of it.
Maybe one day people will realize the establishment you keep voting in doesn't want cheap and unlimited energy.
Until then, let's keep talking in circles about it.
