Without being the project manager, you're speculating on the amount of focus this had.
And noone voted for it, all companies effectively in charge of these emojis (Google, Apple, etc.) decided for everyone that it was for the best.
What will they change next, who initiated and coordinated that effort, and why, are all important questions.
I'm very much against it. It's the same or worse than altering the text content of a message.
Once you put an emoji symbol out there for a character code and it's agreed upon, it should be immutable.
A more recent one is the OJ trial.
But those are perfect examples of bad jurors.
It's up to you and your peers to be good jurors.
What system do you suggest?
I see there's a YJS provider in the repo.
I assume this is the Monaco support TFA alluded to.
Is this provider ready for use right now or are there limitations?
Also how well does this scale for one to many sessions?
https://www.gfdl.noaa.gov/global-warming-and-hurricanes/
> There is no strong evidence of century-scale increasing trends in U.S. landfalling hurricanes or major hurricanes. Similarly for Atlantic basin-wide hurricane frequency (after adjusting for changing observing capabilities over time), there is not strong evidence for an increase since the late 1800s in hurricanes, major hurricanes, or the proportion of hurricanes that reach major hurricane intensity.
And is this your same advice for California?
Everyone needs to bury their lines but it costs money.
Cali every year has to have controlled blackouts because it's so bad at managing lines, no hurricanes needed.
I think people around here would charge too much to go vegan.
It might be cheaper use people on the West Coast.
In Japan many dishes are what you describe.
In Korea and the Philippines, many dishes are pure meat.
I have no strategy or intent to control peoples diet though.
You can attempt to argue for the merits of the comparison, in your own words, if you'd like.
And yes, I'm constantly deciding between different amounts of meat I can eat, it usually depends on how hungry I am.
I decide the amounts, what meat protein, then pick veggies that go with it, and add a small amount of carbs.
and I wouldn't compare slavery to meat consumption.
you can even go to any mcdonalds there and get the most delicious, juicy white meat chicken you've ever had. not nuggets, full fried breasts.
literally every place serves fried chicken and it's amazing, every place also has spaghetti which I found... odd.
But my point was that pretty much all asian countries love meat.
I mean, food in South Korea and the Philippines is 90% chicken.
Meat consumption is everywhere, because it provides the calories people need, easily, and tastes delicious.
People don't want to (and sometimes can't!) eat the stuff we feed to cows and chicken, anywhere.
I feel like shit after eating pasta, so I never eat it. I feel great after eating meat, so I always eat it.
But we don't eat out, that's more wasteful and expensive than anything else. fires up the grill
Try to not eat meat in Asian countries. My wife gave up being vegetarian while we were over there.
Whether it's Japan, Korea, Philippines, or otherwise, they love meat, in many forms. Especially chicken.
As do I.
Once you build the pipeline, it's not that hard to maintain CDN releases.
GP was just voicing a wish that a certain piece of software or service as described without predatory pricing exists.
They never said they wanted it for free, you did.
This does not seem like a healthy economy or job market from my perspective.
Nothing compared to pre-covid, or even the early days of covid.
If you're a web dev, that means React.
It's not a "random binary" either, it's a hosted binary for language features coming from the zed developers github release.
Even if the binary was compiled on demand when you clicked the button, were you going to go through the entire source of node to verify?
The real problem is "running" the language server on untrusted code. That's where there should be a confirm dialog.
But it's a separate issue about workspace permissions.
That's the only vulnerability here and it exists on at least one some level in all editors in language servers. (VSCode's workspace permissions aren't that secure)
The only point of this would be if you didn't want to download the language server for untrusted code.
I think what people really want is workspace location permissions...
If you use Zed you must have known the language server was running when you tried it, how did you think that was happening?
If you open a file for that language, is there ever a time you would deny the download?
I just don't want a huge amount of popups like VSCode.
Also, the binaries are downloaded from their release on github. As long as that is secure I don't see a problem.
I used it earlier this year in Korea, although it did have a hard to get to setting to change your language, many many things were still in Korean.
It is very difficult to navigate, but I asked for help and a native was able to figure it out.
Still more usable than Google Maps though, which will only give you a not so good train schedule. No walking directions at all.
There's a reason why Vite has a default bundle chunk warning of 500kb.
There's really no reason it should be that large. If you just lazy load each route your chunks should distribute into manageable size pretty much automatically.
It sounds like you may also have a bunch of dependencies. Which can happen in a native app, but in a web app as you know you'll have limited resources so size is important.
