I'm curious how many white people there are on earth vs how many black people there are, and other races. A couple google searches didn't give me any easy finds
edit: I just walked the video again. you have to be crazy if you don't think the guy was encroaching on the officer's space
From https://github.com/2020PB/police-brutality/blob/master/repor...
If you look at the video though the guy was pushing towards the officer against the officer's hand. What do you expect to happen when you decide to aggress on an officer instead of back away?
Here's the video they link https://twitter.com/_doreenpt/status/1266994439039455232
How many other incidents are there in this repo that are unfairly listed/described?
I got a lot of socializing at both companies, got to hang out with guys my own age and guys older than me, got to have some fun (maybe not as much as my peers in university), got to grow up, etc.
I think university back in the day used to mean a lot more, and I would have enjoyed it, but now it's so watered down cause everyone goes, and political / cultural movements have made the university programs require much more effort and much less thought
Just my 2 cents
Edit: also, to add to this, at the same time I also learned a lot of stuff completely outside of the domain of software through books on my own. philosophy books, history books, sociology books, etc. etc. I really liked that I was able to carefully select the authors and books and topics to the ones that grabbed my eye.
edit 2: oh ya! i also got a lot of fun socializing at the bootcamp too.
Trucks are more powerful than cars, more power equals more freedom and independence
If society came to an absolute abrupt stop and everything we take for granted today no longer was available (I'm talking worse than this quarantine) a truck would be useful in many ways a car couldn't be
if it's physical activity using will (like a droning gym routine) or meditation, i actually think it can lead to more stiffness and weirdness and awkwardness in a person's psychology
the body is not meant to be controlled by the mind
the objective is just to simply connect with the body more, not yell at it
I do agree bringing awareness is verrryyy helpful and healthy. the key is to keep being aware of what comes up for you and accept it and embrace it and get to know it and empathize with other postures/bodies to see how exactly your body _could_ feel differently and as you realize more and more what your body is really feeling, it'll naturally heal on its own. no need to step it and change things consciously, which never really does anything anyways cause your subconscious takes over as soon as your attention shifts away
the key thing to take away here is it's impossible to fully realize how your body actually feels without some psychological insights into yourself as well, to move some stuff from your subconscious to your conscious
like for example one can't fully realize how much anger their jaw is holding unless they also realize how much they feel angry about their life cause of something they haven't realized and have repressed
for anyone interested in reading more check out alexander lowen's books on amazon. fascinating, fascinating guy with lots of veryyyyy interesting things to say. any of his books will suffice really, i've read most of them
If you feel like you're carrying a load on your shoulders... your shoulders are gonna show that. If you feel like you have to clench and grind through your days, your jaw is going to show that. etc. etc.
A really interesting question to reflect on is when someone gains weight, what determines where the weight goes? Their stomach? Their thighs? Everywhere evenly distributed? etc.
This reminds of the film JFK, from 1991, that retells the story around the JFK assassination. It is a phenomenal, phenomenal film that really, really hit me hard. It's 3 hours and 9 minutes long but I watched it all the way through in one sitting.
It follows the true, real story of a district attorney who looks into details around the event shortly after it happened and gets the exact same feeling as you, where he looks around wonders whether he's taking crazy pills or if everyone else is taking crazy pills. So he goes deeper and tries to find out which is the case...
Highly recommend this film. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102138/
