I was spared in the last recession/downturn and all I can do is hope for the same and keep myself prepared in the event that I need to look for something new.
This is a good thing because now I gotten pretty good at cooking some of the dishes at home.
I remember a company named Aereo being sued out of existence because they were offering OTA TV to their subscribers by allocating an micro antenna to each user. The excuse did fly in court.

BTW, thanks for sharing!
Of course they can build PWA's to try to keep more of the money but Apple will eventually find a way to capture that money. Apple controls the only browser engine on IOS and I don't expect them to investing in features that threaten the Apple tax.
If PWAs become popular enough then Apple will add a browser feature redirects/proxies payments through Apple and they'll take their 30% cut.
Until the user provides payment info (via in App or payment site), use an semi-aggressive email drip campaign to steer users to the payment website.
Some percentage of user will find (and use) the App Stores payment process. The hope is that those that due use the website make the campaign payoff in the long term.
On the flip side, it's not a free lunch. Developers will have to spend money to get users on boarded outside of the App store.
With that said, I agree that 30% is too much and makes Apple look greedy.
Security breaches happen. If it hasn't happened yet consider it luck. I'm disappointed by the lack of urgency in the response and failure to take nominal steps in improving their posture.
I hope this is a wake up call for them and other Saas companies.
Thanks for the info about 'delete WebAssembly'
