tirus··on ScyllaDB Closes $16M in Series B Funding
We use 1.6 in production on AWS i3.16xlarges and it's great. We've seen a reduction to less than half the nodes and over 100k per node requests/sec (up from 4k req/sec for Cassandra). Very few issues and those that come up get immediate attention from core developers that actually wrote the code you're having issues with.

Absolutely 100% recommend.

tirus··on Consul 0.7
I've released the latest .NET API too for the dozens of us that use .NET with Consul. It features full (.NETStandard 1.3) support of Core in this version! https://www.nuget.org/packages/Consul/0.7.0
tirus··on Self-host analytics for better privacy and accuracy
For those of us that prefer not to be tracked by self-hosted Sandstorm apps, 2 new ublock rules (they're very rough, but I am no ublock wizard):

||sandcats.io/embed.js$script

view.gif?page=$image

Note that you would have to change the filters if the scripts and tracking pixel are renamed of course but this should catch a majority of the push button installs.

tirus··on Self-host analytics for better privacy and accuracy
Yeah, unfortunately it shows up as https://ls4an735rucvfa6ps6bb.filippo.sandcats.io/embed.js - it's getting to the point where I need to start performing actual content inspection.
tirus··on Don’t Use Markdown for Documentation
And then there's CommonMark: http://commonmark.org/

They aim to standardize the "markdown-like" formats into a single unified one. It's not done yet but it's certainly better than everyone for themselves.

tirus··on Show HN: Switchboard.chat
Looks cool - typo on the front page though: "What is swithboard.chat?" instead of "What is switchboard.chat?"
tirus··on Show HN: Microphone – Self-Announcing .NET Services on Top of Consul
Really cool to see another library using the Consul library I wrote! Thanks for posting this.
tirus··on Go 1.5 Beta
Has anyone spotted the documentation for the new shared library system yet? Plugin-based architecture is one of the biggest things I've wanted in Go and it seems to finally be happening.
tirus··on Migrating from EC2-Classic to VPC with zero downtime
What a coincidence - that's exactly what I did too, except I used IPTables and just PATed the connections.
tirus··on Migrating from EC2-Classic to VPC with zero downtime
Author here - Actually, the big problem was RDS EC2-Classic DB security groups, which ClassicLink doesn't help with. ClassicLink certainly is a feature, but it's not one that would have helped with the subset of groups that we were having trouble with.
