tpae··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (July 2026)
I'm working on Osaurus, AI harness for local models. It's for macOS, written in Swift.

tpae··on Muse Spark 1.1
Open source would make them an instant credible leader, major fumble (still can be fixed)
tpae··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (June 2026)
I've been building native macOS harness called Osaurus https://osaurus.ai/

It's full featured with agent loop, gets work done locally.

It's open-source and Swift-based, we built our own inferencing engine since every other engine is based on Python. Check us out - https://github.com/osaurus-ai/osaurus

Looking for some feedback!

tpae··on Why is Claude an Electron app?
just fixed it
tpae··on Why is Claude an Electron app?
The framing here assumes you need to ship native to all 3 platforms to justify leaving Electron. You don't.

I've been building a native macOS AI client in Swift — it's 15MB, provider-agnostic, and open source: https://github.com/dinoki-ai/osaurus

Committing to one platform well beats a mediocre Electron wrapper on all three.

tpae··on Ask HN: What's a standard way for apps to request text completion as a service?
You can check out my project here: https://github.com/dinoki-ai/osaurus

I'm focused on building it for the macOS ecosystem

tpae··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (Nov 2025)
I've been building with local AI, on Apple Silicon. It's only 8mb, but runs 30% faster than Ollama.

I just finished https://tweaks.io, it's open-source and MIT licensed. Let me know your thoughts!

tpae··on Counter-Strike: A billion-dollar game built in a dorm room
I used to be an admin in CAL (Cyber Athlete League), wrote my own mIRC scripts for support desk tickets and had a janky PHP interface for managing scores. Good times!
tpae··on Dinoki Roadmap: Privacy-First Desktop AI with Character Mode and Agent Mode
I've been building Dinoki, a native desktop AI companion for macOS and Windows that runs without the cloud. Just published our updated roadmap. Would like feedback, especially on balancing autonomy with transparency.

tpae··on Ollama has a native front end chatbot now
Thank you! Try it out and give us feedback
tpae··on Ollama's new app
I've been building this: https://dinoki.ai/

Works fully local, privacy first, and it's a native app (Swift for macOS, WPF for Windows)

How long would it take?
tpae··on Launch HN: Pinch (YC W25) – Video conferencing with immersive translation
I really like the concept, but I don't understand why you guys are building an entire video conferencing platform. That sounds like years of work building the network and millions of VC funds. It could be a standalone app that exports video to existing conferencing services. I would pay good money for that.

NiftyKit | Senior Unity Developer | Remote | Full-time

We're a web3 NFT platform looking to hire a senior unity developer to work on exciting projects related to NFTs and gaming. Our team is based in Los Angeles, but we're a remote-first company.

We like to build and launch quickly and iterate fast as we collect feedback. If this resonates with you, we want to work with you.

Web3 experience is unnecessary, but be open-minded about what is currently possible. Bonus points if you love cars and have built racing games before.

Please send us your resume and project links, and tell us about your first car.

tpae··on Tell HN: Ever think of applying to YC? Do it this weekend for S24
No thanks. I've applied every year for the first ten years since I was 20 and have not received any feedback on my rejections. The only times I did not apply, I went on to raise series A & B. I've seen friends get accepted with nothing but an idea and a Stanford degree.
