troubledandlost··on Ask HN: What was the most stressful time in your life?
My childhood. Coming from a place with lots of (domestic) violence and severe psychological abuse.

Adulthood is troublesome as well for me, but it isn't the most stressful so far. It feels like a never-ending ultra marathon on crutches. And that's ADHD for me. Making my life harder for no real benefit.

troubledandlost··on Ask HN: What's Your Process for Learning?
My approach: Learn such that you can explain it (linear algebra concepts) to somebody with basic knowledge (high school math).

Explaining (linear algebra) to a kindergartener might be possible, but harder.

That's the Feynman method for me.

troubledandlost··on Ask HN: What do you do to improve your cognitive abilities?
This might be ADHD-specific, but these things help:

- meditation/mindfulness:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4403871/

Taking DHA/EPA and proteins as well as zinc might help too. There are studies conducted on this.

Also, from my personal experience: water fasting for >= 5 days (not only do you get autophagy and ketosis, you get a clearer mind too). If you are interested in this fasting thing, then I suggest consulting Valter Longo and his findings.

troubledandlost··on Ask HN: Why isn't JavaScript long-lasting?
Good point, but when I purposefully limit the amount of dependencies and use dependencies that have no dependencies (like Vue.js), can I make my web app long-lasting that way (like I can with C89 and SDL)?

IOW: is there an issue with (vanilla) JS despite it being a standardized language?
