How modern Israel came to be upon “God promised land”?
That’s the main reason and I do not believe in any possibility of any peace in the region, whatever bullshit politicians would say.
Tell me why anyone in the region shouldn’t be pissed of at Israel (and to their piggy banks in the West)?
Most gyms, ISPs, mobile carriers, any sort of services with continuous subscription have this scheme:
- they sell you subscription with some ridiculous (and perpetual) discount (often with “first three months - it’s free”);
- there’s minimum commitment clauses/fines (so you won’t leave too early);
- there’s clause to “pay up all given discounts on canceling the contract”;
- they “balance” two rules above in such a way that it is never “good time” to leave.
Wonder if this seals the fate that M6 Pros will be at absolute minimum $100 more expensive?
For example, ad algorithm will draw product placement with specific products that it thinks you're the target. Protagonist will drink pepsi/coke/juice, will use linux/mac, will drive MB/BMW/Ford - depending on what ad algorithm thinks you'd like to buy.
Somehow I feel like this "A/B testing" feature is actually a cornerstone by YouTube for AI driven media future, for exactly this (dystopian) reason.
Car bodies were carriages for few first decades of car history. So if you can fix and maintain horse carriage - you can maintain car carriage.
Engines were simple too and designed to be maintained in a field environment with few tools. So it’s reasonable that this skill was learned, especially by mechanically inclined people.
“Mas Namtla didn’t murder a person - his AI drone was just misaligned”
Got my hands on Olympus - will see if it’s better.
Wonder how it will change app stores for the future.
> This is your coat token, to my coat hanger in the opera.
On one hand - maybe yes??! On the other who the hell speaks like that and it’s so specific…
I’d expect Alice and Bob with locks or house keys. Is this infamous old book scanning (and destroying) affecting latest models?
@grok what is a credible source?
/s of course
Neither Hoka, Asics, New Balance, et al. make truly wide toe box shoes.
Better than nothing - sure. Though after wearing Altras, feet health is much better and you can feel how all other shoes feel tight, even my widest Hokas are tight in comparison.
My biggest complaints though with Altras:
- They offer only zero drop (or near zero drop) shoes;
- Their QC to price ratio is atrocious (stitches failing, heel fabric gone to shreds 2-3 times faster than other brands, sole is so soft that it goes to shreds or wears out 2 times faster than others);
Problem for me is that I wouldn't even consider buying them if they wouldn't be the only shoe brand that I can access that has truly wide toe box and is not "barefoot shoe".
I had no issue paying with a card everywhere, but it was interesting to see those QR codes everywhere.
Though after spending 15min trying to set it up - I eventually made a conclusion that it’s impossible for non Swede (or someone without Swedish bank account and/or mobile phone number). Could be wrong, but did not delve more.
Had to skip couple donations - as they only accepted Swish app.
It turned out fine and now he’s one of more charming presenters.
I don’t want to looking where to order it when it’s lost or broken.
They have added backlight, but still left charging/connecting to proprietary magnetic adapter.
Github isn’t small startup, where other 10x threshold is as cheap as buy bigger box in your IaaS.
When you are already biggest player in the ecosystem and you suddenly get 10x persisted traffic, with at least 30x+ forecast “soon” - I am not surprised they have issues.

ruzzian troll farm employee cannot call into fox news and say “create 100 John Does impersonating MAGA texans (or whatever), present them as real and I will pay you 5$ for that”. Such troll can automate all this and present media somewhat realistically on FB.
Personally - I think that this was the moment when silicon valley billionaires without shadow of a doubt understood that they have power what used to be reserved only for state actors. Bonus - for using that power they get fined penny on the dollar at most or just slap on the wrist.
Update: now situation is even worse - states actively buy propaganda with social media companies, making those companies even more rich and influential.
Seeding superlogical wouldn’t make a dent to his “10 digit bank account”. Probably not much more expensive than airplane hobby.
He has the freedom of choice, like no other.
I wouldn't want to be a kid, elderly, sick, blind, disabled in USA.
> There’s no point spending money on something that only 15% of the population will even consider using
Induced demand.
Though seriously you had everything: trains, trams/streetcars, great towns - now say it's impossible (after 80-100 years of lobbying and crazy subsidies).
I bet if "right" startup popped up that by accident would be public transport adjacent - atitude would shift on a dime. I saw a bunch of articles about pedestrian accessibility improvements, due to delivery bots[0]. Apparently it may be easier to improve things for businesses instead of people.

Cars are the very bottom, by very considerable margin. You need to prove otherwise.
Though still, I wonder, what gains could be from such model (car sharing instead of cars or public transit)?
As far as I understand this model must support (with some room) demand at peak. So how many times less cars would be on the road then? How many streets and parking areas could be returned to people as pedestrian/recreation areas. How would that compare with proper public transport setup in terms of land use, cost, environment impact.
I don't think it would be that much, because I cannot imagine such car sharing model working in places like London, Tokyo or other big developed cities.
